Will we ever see a beginner in the final again?

Or even a beginner winner like Darren Gough, Mark Ramprakash or Chris Hollins again? I know this year has more ringers than most, but I can't help but feel that the whole point of Strictly is someone coming along and learning a new skill from scratch? When you stick a bunch of stage school brats in there was oodles of prior dance training it's not a level playing field at all.

It's an entertainment show and I want to be entertained!

It doesn't matter whether we will see a complete beginner in the final again or not.

As you say, it is about entertainment and I find good dancing entertaining. Give me a Danny or Louise any day over a Darren Gough!

Katie was in the final last year. Two of the remaining four are "beginners". So yes.

Or Claudia. I don't think being a gymnast makes her a dancer so she's a beginner too in my opinion.

They'll do all they can to ensure that Claudia goes next week.

Oh do give the word ringer a rest. It is so tedious. It's becoming so that anybody who has ever put one front infront of the other is called a ringer. At least fifty percent of SCD contestants come from the entertainment world and it stands to reason that in their professional lives they will at some time probably have had to dance.

I for one do not want to see fifteen left-footed contestants plod their way through weeks of grindingly dull dancing.

Yes, in two weeks time when either or both Ore or Claudia will be in the final, assuming a three person final

Well last year Katie Derham and Georgia May Foote were both in the final and didn't have any prior training. Ore this year hasn't had prior training and neither has Claudia. Danny has never actually learned dancing outside of basic steps. The musical he was in as an understudy has no dancing in it. Louise is the only one who's had proper dance training.

I like the mix of abilities and as you say with it being entertainment, ultimately I don't really care whether someone has never danced before (though it's always impressive when they do take it to it so well like Ore), I vote for who's exciting to watch.

This time it's Danny and Claudia for me.

Here, here. Imagine weeks of Melvin O'Doom or Gary Rhodes. The programme would collapse

All of the winners so far except for Darren Gough (who had a whole journey from week one to week 2) - so 12 out of 13 - have finished in the top 4 of their first week leaderboards.

Even non-dance winners started off non too shabby.

Well seeing as he didn't go to stage school and studied something normal at Uni, yes. He said his only prior dance training is when he learned a basic dance for his wedding.

Even Danny Mac isn't a ringer - he's learned the same basic dance steps most actors do, but he's never learned ballroom before.

He stated categorically that he was - would be stupid to lie - and he looks like a beginner

Next year I want to see all beginners in the competition.

The last four are beginners because none of them have learnt ballroom and latin before.

I loved Georgia, but she had danced before. Just not at stage school level like Kellie and Jay.

Danny went to ArtsEd, with plenty of dance on the curriculum. Combine that with the performance experience from Musicals work and you have a pretty good dancer. His training no different from Louise...

Louise did dancing at italia Conte as a kid as part of lessons, music and acting and finished when she was 15 years old.

Danny went to dance college has learnt far more than basic steps which has been obvious from week one

only Ore and Claudia have not had training though some ballet is included with gym training but not intennsive just some steps to help with balance

Then may I politely suggest you visit your local Dance School? Our national broadcaster is not going to put out a peaktime entertainment show with only clodhoppers to watch!

Louise has also judged a Prime time dance show

In interviews she claimed she had no training. Perhaps not formal as her agency CV on just mentions breakdancing.

Going back 2013 Abbey, Sophie and Susanna all did not have much training if any. Maybe Mark Wright in 2014
