I haven't watched much of this X factor but my god what is Simon thinking? Usually Simon is right but this time he's got it so wrong. The girl has no range to her voice, it is not powerful either. She has a very weak voice and half the time she sounds out of tune! Last nights Christmas song was awful. She sounded like she had a sore throat where she was losing her voice. I could hardly hear her singing and when she tried to go high she couldn't! The children were singing over her. Plus she stood there, it was so boring to watch and she didn't have any stage performance whatsoever. Just heard her sing again at the beginning of show ans again she was awful. I'm sorry but when did Simon believe she could sing? I'm only saying this because I find it hard to believe she's made it to the final with a voice like she has. I heard more powerful voices during the auditions. That Saara lady however is amazing compared to her.

Did you see her performance of Creep? It was very good

She seems to have lost her voice as the show has gone on

Oh she can sing

She's not my favourite kind of singer (and neither is Saara in some respects), but she can sing

But suffering from fatigue (and not that well apparently) like everyone else and just another amateur (as in inexperienced / not professional) singer with issues that can't be fixed in 10 weeks

Sadly I don't think Emily is well and hasn't been for weeks, she's had that awful cough for ages now. I actually feel quite sorry for her and think she will go tonight against Matt, he is a much stronger singer and far superior and Emily needs to rest her voice!

Creep was her best song but Simon has done her no favours by giving her the same type of song, really slow and never a dancing song every single week! I think that Simon has been the worst mentor this season and he should sack himself! Look how bad he was with Sam and Gifty!

Even though she can sing, I'm really surprised she has got this far in the competition, tbh, as she has given the same type of performances each week.

I don't not think Emily was a good singer - I mean she just stands there and yet her vocals were weak

The staging of Creep was great - the vocal performance wasn't.

She has a beautiful voice and often delivers very emotional and haunting performances.

That's fine if you like graveyard music.

Emily always sang songs too slowly and it was like she was just ready for her own funeral.

It was rather bizzare what they did to her - all her auditions had been quirky and upbeat - I imagined them making her a female Paulo Nutini - yet they kept going down the real slow route.

It's classic. Xfactor - they don't know what to do with someone who is not mainstream.

Why shouldn't she just stand there ?

Of course she can sing. It's nicely in tune. But her voice has a narrow range, not a lot of strength and it's a thin, quirky style that doesn't stand up against other vocalists in this genre. It's nice, but that isn't enough. For Saturday night final we need more kapow!

Tonight she lost to Matt - also not a great singer but he is stronger than her and his falsetto, not great by any stretch of the imagination - is a bigger draw than Emily's performance.

I get the feeling there is a lot more personality than we have seen in her John Lewis Light act but this isn't the platform to show that sort of talent as what X Factor wants is a commercial puppet.

I noticed that she's been coughing for a few weeks now, I wonder if something's up with her voice that she can't do vocally demanding songs and has to have the back up singers drown her out. Hope she's ok, health-wise.

Although, I do feel sorry for those going to the X Factor tour, having to listen to Emily's weeks of slow songs in one sitting.

I thought that singing had to do with having good pitch first and good tone second. Not range and power. Tone and pitch are the most important

Seriously? Emily was never going to stand a chance against Matt. Matt's a very good singer and he also puts a lot of passion in his performances as well. I think Emily knew she'd be going home before the judges even started voting.

She hasn't got a bad voice, but her stage performance is not that great which is what really lets her down IMO. She reminds me a bit of Janet Devlin, but not as good.

I never got what Simon saw in her. She's a nice girl with no personality and a nice voice that many others have.

I think your mixing up stronger and louder. Matt just shouted his way through his performances over the weekend including in the sing off, where Emily was far superior. Which isn't saying much admittedly.

Emily was better in the sing off, but of course they had already decided that Matt was going through anyway.

Everyone else has done performances both uptempo and slowed down (Saara has had some of her songs arranged so that they start slow and then move uptempo). They've all had varying degrees of choreography. Emily is the only one who hasn't really varied what she's done - even Honey G was more animated and moved around when she performed.

I actually thought that both Emily and Matt upped their game in the sing-off - I thought both were pretty decent, and it was nice to see a sing-off where we didn't have two acts having a complete melt-down. However, Emily clearly didn't have anywhere else to go performance-wise. She was already struggling with some sort of cough/cold/chest infection - would she really have been able to deal with a week of Homecoming Concert/interviews/general campaigning/rehearsals, with two back-to-back life XF shows at the end of it? I also think her whole style of performing wouldn't have worked in the barn that is Wembley Arena.

She can sing, she just isn't one of the usual shout the notes type of singers.

I do feel the show sucked all personality from her though.
