Question about Now TV
Hi all,
My Mum wants to be able to watch Iplayer & other catch up channels on her TV & so I would like to get her something for Christmas for this. I know that the Now TV box does this, but I am unable to see if there are any further charges for the catch up service. My Mum has no interest in the Sky Chanels & only wants something that will have Iplayer etc. Is the Now TV box suitable for this ? Many Thanks |

No charge for the catch up tv services. You only pay for nowtv ent pass, cinema, sports or sky store, you do not pay for iplayer, itvhub, 4od or my5.
It also has youtube too which you can find some great old movies on. |

Remember though, to activate the box in the first instance you must set up a Now TV account with your bank details, regardless of whether you use the pay tv apps.

The Now TV Box is a perfect box for this as it has:
iPlayer ITV Hub All 4 (Channel 4) My 5 (Channel 5) The catch here is that if your mum ever wants Prime or Netflix, she can't ever get that with this box. If you spend a little more on say a Fire TV Stick you will get more free catchup services iPlayer ITV Hub All 4 My 5 UKTV Play TV Player (freeview via Internet) The Fire TV does put more confusing focus on Prime content that your mum probably won't want though. Finally, around the same price is the Roku Stick which has the same apps as the Now TV box but with the future ability to get Prime or Netflix if your mum wants this (or someone gifts them the service). I know you say now your mum absolutely doesn't want those, but guess what... many people say that but once they try on-demand for the free services and everyone talks about shows on Netflix or Prime, they often ask... "Can I get that on my device?) |

Or even better spend £30 on a ROKU stick and get all catch up services plus netflix, amazon etc if required.

You don't say in the OP but all the above assumes your Mum has broadband as those devices need that to get the services.

. Apologies for not putting in my Mum's internet connection in the original post, she has fibre with BT Infinity.
