Forum seems pretty negative! / Review - thoughts of this year
Don't usually go on this forum - used to back in the day to see what people thought about people on ImACeleb but now seem from Twitter. All seems very negative about people. Maybe this is the norm when talking about reality TV?? I don't watch any other reality TV as can't stand it generally. The whole people famous for nothing etc.
I like ImACeleb, partly (mostly) because of Ant and Dec. This year, like many, I personally liked it as its been a group of mostly just nice, decent, funny people. Almost like a perfect antidote from 2016 which has been a sh*t year. Like many, I thought it was many Z list stars with a few people knew like Carol Vorderman. I don't watch soaps so didn't know Adam - but had seen Larry on TV somewhere. I thought I wouldn't be keen on Scarlett - I knew who she was on Gogglebox and she seemed OK but I stopped watching Gogglebox as many of them started getting annoying, playing up to camera and some basically rude - but thought she would be the type of person/"celeb" with stupid orange fake tan and giant false eyelashes. But I ended up liking her. I don't believe her when she said would rather have million laughs than £1m but I sort of see her point I think in that money isn't everything. Of course, if you had £1m or chance to earn it, you wouldn't say no. I am happy Scarlett would but would have equally been as happy if Joel won. To be honest, never heard of him before but was a funny, nice guy. Adam started to annoy me as I started to think he was putting it on a bit - at certain points it sort of seems like he was getting annoyed and how he could dish it out but couldn't take it (the banter). I was also happy that Sam did well. Someone else who was basically unknown but a nice, funny girl. Arguably the least well known as pretty much just been on TV during a hockey match. I "knew" of her as I watched the Olympics and was very happy the GB women won the gold. I thought Lisa was good and shame she went out so early. Got stuck in, up for the challenges. Wayne was a surprise in a way - although I don't know why expecting him to be an idiot other than he used to play for Chelsea! Jordan seemed a nice guy but didn't really bring much. But like every year, a lot is down to editing. Danny was obnoxious when he came in but didn't see after 1st day - edited out? calmed down? Martin was annoying. Not horrible but just a bit annoying. He was like a child. And to be fair, he had a bad first day with no food etc. But I think maybe he may have got on my nerves if lived with him 24 hours. I thought Larry went a bit too far with some of the stuff towards Martin and I think that resulted in him going a few days earlier than maybe could have. Ola - she came across well and was nice and pretty funny - like everyone else! So overall, a good year I think. Just entertaining in a different way. Personally I prefer it to having arguments and having someone just plain horrible like Lady C. Anyway, thats my thoughts. I originally was just posting her to mention it seemed everyone was negative about the show, this years show, the contestants etc but ended up a bit of a review! |

I originally was just posting her to mention it seemed everyone was negative about the show, this years show, the contestants etc but ended up a bit of a review! It made a nice change for this years series to have Celebrities that got along with each other. I wonder if the producers deliberately chose people that they knew would become friends straight away. Because with them using this tactic, it produced no arguments and no standout moments which is a shame because thats what i watch it for. This years series was good at the start. But it needed someone to stir things up a bit. And Danny and Martim were introduced to do this. But when Danny was voted to leave first. The series went downhill from that moment and it turned into the Waltons which was not good for the show |

As a general rule this forum likes to champion alternative winners on reality shows
So if hugely popular with public not popular here and vice versa |

Will anyone over 30 ever win the show again.
Or is it just now an app fest for teenagers who pick the reality tv star the producers want to promote. |

It was predictable from day 1 who would win and got more so as the days went on the amount of hut visits is one of the biggest clues
until they stop putting reality and soap stars in the jungle it will always be predictable who will win imagine if we did not have soap/ reality celebs in this year no Scarlett, Adam or Larry look who we had outside of those worlds Sam, Carol, Joel ect and how many were aged over 45?, looks like they are going down the BB route no contestants over 40 allowed I know where I would want future celebs to come from and what age I would like them to be and stop with all the bugs trails |

As I've said elsewhere, I enjoyed this series far more than any other I can remember just because people got on. I never enjoyed the likes of Lady C or Helen Flanagan etc, with all their nastiness or crying over nothing etc. I don't want to tune in and see horrible arguments. There is enough rubbish in this world, it's nice to have proper entertainment and seeing people get along.
I don't take the show too seriously, unlike many people on here it seems. I kind of knew who would win from an early stage too, some of the editing is pretty one sided but ultimately, it's just a telly show, it doesn't even cost us anything to vote these days so we are not losing out! I think some people should just chill out about things a bit more! |

Show is following the same X factor format. Clever editing promoting the select few, people wasting their money on phone lines and a general feeling of being underwhelmed.
Ant and Dec should be given a new show because they are the only ones keeping the titanic afloat. Look at the 'winners' on ITV2 for your winning prototype. No doubt they'll squeeze in Scarlett next year for more fluff and tatt. |

I really didn't want just another reality TV star to win it again.
why can ITV not find some more positive roll models then z listers to promote because lets face it they did there up most to make her win she was on almost all of the time in the bush hut telling us what just happened as if we are to thick to realise. Also the trials just seemed to easy this year. |

Many posters on this forum were way over the top in the way they talk about critise the contestants and it just makes for a horrible read. Its no wonder the traffic is getting less and less each year

Apart from the eating challenges which I cannot watch, (I have to leave the room due to the resulting retching by the camp mates), I enjoyed this series. They were a decent bunch of human beings and, for once, they weren't foul-mouthed attention seekers. It was probably a borefest for some but not for me, if I want to see squabbling, I'll watch EastEnders, there's enough there to fulfill anyone's appetite for such misery.

Any chance of them featuring people who actually do things? (ie Sam for example)

Im getting abit bored with the format...... same ole same ole... bugs eating and been trodden on, HOWEVER unlike millions ive loved watching a mature bunch of people who got on like a house on fire rather than watching grown up adults bitching and having meltdowns on national tv. by mature i mean mentally not their age. Theres nothing worse than seeing a grown up having a tantrum on national tv, martin tested me but i understood its hard going into a camp as an outsider and no one hated him he was just a pretty full on personality and they still got on with him. Viewers just like to make up problems in this pathetic pc world we live in. |

It was an okay year.
The trials were absolutely pants, that combined with Martin made me switch off in the last week. And it was pretty obvious that Scarlett was going to win as soon as she was in that canoe. The lightheartedness of most of the campmates made for a nice change. |
