Sorry, im not buying it
As lovely as Scarlett is, this "little old me" used to watch I'm a celeb and now I'm on it act, doesn't fool me. This is her 3rd reality show, the first being MTVs Beauty School Cop Out which was about young people living in a house, learning the tricks of the trade in the beauty industry. As far as I'm aware she has a degree and a job (before she left to do the morning radio show) so didn't want to work in the beauty industry, so the only reason you would do that show, like most other reality shows, is to get famous, especially one as low level as that one. Now in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with that and if she did want to get famous, it was a great stepping stone to goggle box and then I'm a celeb. So why not just say that. This whole normal working class girl rubbish is starting to annoy me. As if she is looking down her nose at other reality stars from the North East that have made it. She hasn't had sex on TV, but she is a wannabe like they are, so just admit it. No real difference from the towie lot really and I'm a celeb said no reality stars this year.
As for her winning, she was good in the jungle, but I prefer my winners to be a bit less predictable, someone who I didn't know their personality and turned out to be a bit if a surprise. With scarlet, we got exactly what we expected but a bit less funny than on gogglebox. Also way too similar to last year's winner, no doubt we will see her on every show under the sun now as well. |

as i see it, she is just being humble, and hasnt the ambition to be like others - not saying she might not take the opportunity if it ever arose. but i dont see her as a wannabe..

Ok now I know nothing about 'goggle-box' having never watched it but I assumed it was a show were random people are filmed while watching TV to see their reaction to the programmes shown, but what the OP says about it is that it set-up and scripted with people that have been auditioned to take part?

Yeah, the OP sums it up. She's far from the naive honest little simpleton that she portrays. "Eeee ah'd rather have a million laughs than a million pounds". That was a very calculating phrase that she knew would resound with the working classes that love the show. What an endearing quality. It's like some sentimental guff Alan Bennett would have written.

it's not in the least like anything Alan Bennett would have written. And AB doesn't write and has never written 'sentimental guff'. It sounds as if you've never read or seen any of his work.

I also think that she knows the show inside out as she has watched it a lot and is a superfan and was very keen to do as many trials in the last few days as she knows that would help her win. Obviously they all have to do tasks in the last week as there is less of them, but she did one trial one day then offered to do one the next day with the "I don't mind doing this one", when they were left with people that also didn't mind doing them like joel, Adam, Wayne etc. I just think she has actually been quite calculated about it and is playing the public a bit.
At the end of the day she won, so it worked, good for her, she was one of the better contestants in there, but just don't buy the "little old me" "I don't know why I am here" act. Googlebox gets considerably more viewers (about 4m in its heyday) than Homes under the Hammer, anything that Joel Dommett is on, most people wouldn't specifically know Jordan although would know Diversity, or Sam Kwek, so she is far more high profile than half the camp and she is an intelligent girl, so she does know that. |

Scarlett wasn't my favourite campmate but I wasn't unhappy that she won, I thought she deserved it to be honest. She might be a wannabe but she came across as really nice unlike that other awful girl who won last year.

I was disappointed to see the sexy underwear pose on the front of a rag this morning. 🙁

Did she have to tell everyone she paid her family's mortgage? More than likely another ploy to get sympathy that will get her votes and more cash. She's a veteran of reality TV, so she knows the drill. Wasn't she on one of those awful MTV reality shows? Same person in reality has won the show two years running. Hopefully next year there will be none of these reality types on them. At least some of the others had professions. |

Except she's been called out on her honesty? Lots of selfies of her in a lift.

I didn't like Scarlett by the end as much as I thought I would. I think she could have come across a little more genuine and still have probably won.

Scarlett may have over-played the 'little ole starry-eyed innocent me' card but there's an essentially nice, decent, thoughtful person there who has imo no interest in going down the Pattison route. |

Although I agree for the most part with the above, I think it's unfair to compare her to the rough, vulgar, one-note, talentless Pattison.

I agree she is a nice person but definitely played to win, as did Patterson but at least Vicky admitted that and didn't play the innocent card. I think Scarlett will be on everything now, exactly like Vicky, except Scarlett will do better as she isn't as crude as Vicky, isn't spotted out with a different guy every month and hasn't shagged loads of blokes on TV, so you get the wit of Pattinson without the dodgy background. After Vicky's bad hosting skulls on extra camp, I think she might not get as much work and Scarlett will take over the cheeky witty Geordie persona jobs on TV now.
Oh and Pattison is a wit-free zone. All she and Scarlett have in common is that they both come from the NE.

But playing to win should not be a criticism of anyone who goes on a competitive gameshow! Scarlett plainly wanted it and did everything she could to reach the end. The edit for sure was deeply irritating but Scarlett didn't control it and as much as I wanted Joel to be the last person standing, I don't begrudge Scarlett's win for a minute.
