We heard Oksana calling him that often, so I guess that's what he goes by ... on Strictly anyway. His choice.

I liked him too, and although there would have been "outrage" on social media and in the tabloids I for one would have loved to seen him and Ed in the final! A showdance from him and Ed would have been very entertaining.

What a wonderful idea.

Can't you just imagine the outrage.

But his wrists were actually too limp and over-exaggerated, and that was a major flaw in his dancing, along with flat feet and tortured facial contortions.

Even you have to admit that you could have found a better way of phrasing that seriously accusing a gay man of dancing with limp wrists is something that doesn't invite people to think well of you dude unless it's the wrong sort of people. I'll give you the flat feet though.

I wasn't the person who posted it...

Now we're closing in on the final rounds, I'd really like to see one of the girls win the glitter ball, but with all the fawning over Danny that goes on every week I think they'll have a job to stop him.”

SeppyBluey, Why not just restrict your remarks to saying you didn't like this contestant and leave it at that?
I find it extraordinary that SepangBlue is unable to use Bing, Google, Wikipedia, or any of the thousand and one search engines, or read the contestant bios on the BBC Strictly website or even listen carefully to the early VTs to find out who Judge Rob Rinder is?

.....and as for the witless remark about "one of the girls.... will have a job to stop him (Danny)" from winning, Sepang Blue - the public vote decides the winner, and the studio public vote decides who gets the glitter ball. A barrister's brain beats your brain any day.

The title of the show was decided by ITV, and Strictly just used that show title for him because that's how people know him rather than as Robert Rinder. He doesn't "use it to promote himself" - he's been stuck with it as a result of his show.”

And even if he was using it to promote himself, so what? man who wants to be on telly promotes himself on telly...shocking!

It's his stage name, given to him by ITV, and obviously the Strictly producers decided to stick with that because that's how he's known - from the TV programmes "Judge Rinder". Many didn't know who he is when introduced as Judge Rinder. I suspect even less would have known who he is he was if they'd introduced him as Robert Rinder.

A lot of show biz people are known by other than their real name.

For instance how many know the show biz name of James Todd Smith?
Tracy Lauren Marrow
Donald McCain
Peter Edward Baker

"Judge" Robert Rinder says of people who post nasty things:

"Anyone who has residual energy to write something hateful, well, poor them. Happy people with happy lives don’t feel the need to do that."

and he's right.

Sorry, but I don't see your point. So he is a barrister- so what? It would be just as odd to say that Ed Balls is a politician and has held high office.

I am just surprised that the legal community allow it to be honest . Then starring as a consultant in Holby City would not give you the right to carry the title Doctor and would be frowned upon

Maybe that bit was replying to the OP who claimed not to know who he was?

I have similar sentiments. I would have preferred him to stay over Ore.

But that's fiction. Judge Rinder's TV show may be a bit daft at times, but he insists that he does act within the law and the decisions he makes are always bound by the law. He doesn't just dish out money to people he feels sorry for!

His title is still fiction as he is not a legal judge

I'll miss the judge. He was enjoying it so much which came across every week. But it probably was his time to go

His TV programme is not "like a civil court" as someone claimed. I presume both parties can agree to allow him to arbitrate in some matter but that is not a civil court, they could just as easily both sign an agreement to allow Len Goodman to arbitrate over some dispute.

I knew nothing about him and first impressions of gurning and turbocharged camp made me thought I would loathe him. Then my OH realised she knew his family in North London so... He was a terrific contestant and made a great team with Oksana - though as the weeks passed he reminded me more and more of Jake Wood and that Samba was really, really terrible - so no surprise to see him go

So how would you describe it? Would 'floppy wrists' suit your sensibilities?

I think the kept the 'Judge' in his title so folks would, hopefully, recognise him from his show.

He had far less time to practice than others but he never complained. preferring to praise his partner.

TBH, I'm happy with the final 4 and believe Rinder went out at the right time for his progress. As long as those in the final are the correct ones, it doesn't really matter what order the others leave. I'm so looking forward to the next two weeks and don't have a favourite.

But has Len Goodman studied the law for years to provide the required background knowledge to judge cases appropriately, or would he just be biased and talk nonsense like he does about dancing?

But his show is a farce and a waste of everyone's time . He has no power on that show to do anything . The fines he dishes out are paid for by ITV . ITV even pays the fares of both parties .

And Doctor Who isn't a time lord either. So what's your point?

They merely used the name by which he's known by the ITV show.

You can call yourself anything you like. From now on I'm going to refer to myself as Queen Janet43, and there's nothing anyone can do to stop me. Can't change it on here, but I can change it on all of my personal accounts and documents and it will be quite legal.

Don't understand what all the fuss is about a name.
