People always seem cool with religion being mentioned if they've committed a crime. Not sure why anyone has a problem with it being mentioned in this case.

Wonder if your account will be inactive by Christmas day.

Strange Christmas dinner you must have if you think bacon butties would be on the menu.
But hey kudos to you for trying so hard to find something negative and spiteful to say.
The spirit of Christmas still has further to travel.

Our local Sikh temple went to Wales during the miners strike in '84 and fed miners families.

Back on topic, that a lovely, lovely thing for the restaurant to do, nice to see. Hope they all have a fantastic day.

So kind and thoughtful! Offering to sit with people will be more appreciated than the food by some. I hope they get some nice diners and that the atmosphere is really happy.

Clearly the menu has been planned by someone who understands about looking after elderly people. Stew is ideal because it's tender, already cut up and avoids the issue of too many items on the plate which can be overwhelming for an ageing brain. Rice pudding is the same, plus it's very light on the digestion.

Pigs in blankets are a staple part of the Christmas Dinner.

The homeless too, who are often missing many teeth.

Unless Muslims helping the homeless and elderly is something new, I'm not sure why this story has hit the headlines.

Just a general observation re: bacon. Do you like pigs in blankets? I think they are lovely.

An essential part of any Christmas dinner.

Because of the culture in this country to focus on the bad things that have happened supposedly in the name of Islam or by Muslims.

People now feel like it's worth a news item when something that happens everyday is brought to the fore via social media.

True. Sadly, a lot of homeless people have psychiatric illnesses or psychological problems, and the number of food items in a traditional Christmas meal could just cause stress for some.

Even without mental health issues, some people are a pain in the neck about Christmas food:
"Can you make the pudding with vegetarian suet"; "I don't eat dairy - could you use almond milk?", "I'm wheat-free", "Don't put much salt/sugar into it", "I avoid fat", "I don't like frozen roast potatoes", "Can you take the ice-cubes out of my drink", "It's not Christmas without sausages wrapped in bacon", blah blah. Last year and this year, we'll be eating a delicious dinner for two, with plenty of left-overs for an easy boxing day. I take my hat off to those people in that restaurant. Rather them than me.
