Home Fires on ITV - so many stories were left unfinished, leaving viewers waiting for a third series, but then came the news that it had been cancelled.
I also add Dickensian to my post too. |

Ideal – I'm still bitter about that, so have to keep watching my DVDs and recordings.
If we can have this then I'm saying Banished though it was 2015 |

Raised By Wolves, really loved that, it was such a LOL series. Just the last 2 episodes got a bit daft, so it looked pretty obvious it wasn't coming back.

Boy Meets Girls was a lovely little comedy drama, but it did end naturally.
Crashing, no idea if there will be a series 2 but i loved it for Damien Molony. Jekyll and Hyde, I LOVED it! |

Yes Home Fires should at least get a special to say who came out of the war and how. Ridiculous cancellation. Not so keen on Dickensian but it was alright for Christmas viewing and very clever.

Defo Dickensian. Especially as they spent a fortune on the set. Such a waste and it was brilliant

I agree with Home Fires - should have had a Christmas special to wrap up the massive cliffhanger they cheated the audience by ending it on. It also did as well in the ratings as many shows not cancelled.
Also agree with Goodnight Sweetheart - the most requested of the new sitcom season to come back and deserved at least another special if not a series. Might still get one as they are trying to interest other channels. Liked series 1 of Boy Meets Girl as I said on the threads about it but the second one lost its way and drifted into a different show that lost viewers. It was never coming back but did end in the right way so does not need to be continued unlike Goodnight Sweetheart that set up loads of new possibilities for a new series that viewers seem to want to see developed. Something I am very surprised that the BBC did not realise.. |

It's a definite Home Fires from me as well, I really enjoyed that show.....
Another I am not sure if it has been cancelled or not is..... The Good Wife.... I only watched a few when it first started on tv and gave up but!, I have been watching it for a while now on Netflix and I really love it but it seems to have ended in 2016 ,does anyone know the fate of this great series?...... |

I still don't know what possessed ITV to cancel Home Fires and Brief Encounters. They rated reasonably well and, especially Home Fires, would probably sell well internationally. Leaving it on such a massive cliffhanger was shocking as well.
I also really enjoyed Raised by Wolves. Funny, quirky and a bit different. |

Yup. It has ceased to be. It is an ex show. It was a planned end (though some are of the opinion that they still managed to muck it up), so no axe wielded.
..... I have just looked it up on Amazon and i see there is a series 7, so I have that to look forward to as Netflix only goes up to series 6.... Hope it wont be too long before they broadcast that.... |

Titled The Good Fight it will focus around the lawyer characters played by Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo in The Good Wife. I would not be surprised if Netflix UK get this one too as they have with the new Star Trek series. |

Goodnight Sweetheart, axed before it could even start
It was important by far the best of the 6 trials they did but I said before they were even shown that the intention was just to do the Porridge follow on and that was proved right
