The Good Wife is getting a spin off series that will kick start the new CBS on line channel early in the new year as the lead show where Star Trek was supposed to be (but that Star Trek show has been delayed until next Summer hence elevating The Good Wife spin off for the launch)

Titled The Good Fight it will focus around the lawyer characters played by Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo in The Good Wife.

I would not be surprised if Netflix UK get this one too as they have with the new Star Trek series.
I did not know that. Good for Cush. I guess her death* was not in vain then!

* in Vera, obviously!

the intention was just to do the Porridge follow on and that was proved right
They also commissioned a full series Motherland at the time and recently announced the addition of Home From Home so I don't think it's fair to claim your correctitude after all.

I am also adding my vote for Dickensian - I don't know why they axed it, it seemed to be popular

Again. Not axed. The project was conceived and executed as a one-off. In view of the good reaction the writer mooted a second series. The Beeb didn't think it had the legs. Had they gone ahead, no doubt you'd all be moaning about how disappointing it was compared to the first run or how they were straying too far into the books or something. Who'd be a commissioning editor?

Goodnight Sweetheart, axed before it could even start
This. I'm still hoping Marks and Gran will find another station for it.

There is a Christmas Special, but Ian McKellen said that is definitely the end of the line.

No. It's new. It was made for last Christmas but for various reasons wasn't shown then.

Home Fires for me as well.

I don't watch any ITV shows now, generally speaking (unless it's Vera or Broadchurch or on ITV3).

Home fires definitely I binge watched it not knowing that it came to an abrupt end like that with cliffhangers. A one off special to tie up the loose ends would be great.
