I don't know why it's coming back. It has run its course and too many characters have disappeared.

Article says it returns week commencing the 9th so it'll probably be on Fridays from the 13th.

I believe Sally Bretton is also going to be a regular in the new series of Death In Paradise which is due to start the week before so it's going to be a good winter for her fans.

One? I suppose you weren't a regular viewer then? Kate, the original co-star disappeared after series one. Miranda Hart's character disappeared, Tim Vine has gone.

Pay more attention.

It's a new format now: Dad and Mum trying to cope with three exhausting kids.

Well, I say new........

Adopts the persona of Sideshow Mel from The Simpsons: "I'd like to hear from Not Going Out actor (and sitcom veteran) Hugh Dennis."

On the contrary, I have watched every episode since inception. Which is why I don't consider characters who appeared in the first 6 episodes ten years ago and then were never seen again as significant losses in the great scheme of things, for instance. Miranda Hart similarly has just 17 episodes to her name and was never a central character. The only major loss therefore is Tim Vine and even in his case that was some time and 20 episodes ago. There's no way that it comes to too many! Peak Practice it ain't!

I think there was a character called Daisy who also left. I love Lee Mack and adored the first series of the show (that was ten years ago now!) but then Kate left and I never felt Lee shared the same chemistry with Lucy that he shared with her. I don't really understand how the whole grown up kids thing works when they haven't aged at all? Are they all adopted? Surely they can't act like ten years has gone by and everybody looks the same. What about Tim Vine? Is he back now?

Which you will cos he's in it, innit! Outnumbered was hardly the first TV series to use the format anyway. Pretty much every other US sitcom from the 70s onward was a variant of it!

Never mind mourning for the characters who are no longer in it, I'd rather be celebrating the news that one particular character will never be seen again.

How can it be called ''not going out'' when they are now?

They're not going to act like ten years have gone by. They're going to act like 7 years have gone by and I doubt that there's anybody in the world (with the possible exception of yourself) will even think about whether they look like they've aged seven years. It's TV, for crying out loud. If they can get away with immortal characters like Angel and Spike from Buffy ageing despite being dead, I think they can safely assume nobody's going to mind characters that may not have aged quite enough despite being alive!

Don't know whether Daisy will be making an appearance yet. Tim Vine will not be back though.

It means 'staying in' which presumably they'll be doing a whole lot more of with three under-8's. In the sense that you presumably mean it they never did that either, advancing to marriage without passing Go or collecting 200 smackers (see what I did there?)

Please just let it die- The last special was woeful and undid all the good work the previous one did tying it up. Dragging it on for another series just seems unnecessary, I loved the original but it sounds like a totally different premise now.

How much Bobby Ball is there? I have to turn off when he's on so haven't really watched the last few series. I loved it before then (and bought all the DVDs ).

Bobby Ball was notable by his absence on the recording I attended.

It originally meant they lived together but were not a couple, But it can work both ways now yes

What happened last season? Was it the same bickering, Lee fancies flatmate , she dates different guys?

Well you can't have it both ways. If it's a new premise then it's not dragging it on for another series of the old premise, is it?
