Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer
Has anyone bought one these or used one?
I need a new hairdryer and the reviews are good but I cannot justify paying 300 quid for a bloody hairdryer! |

I have a Dyson Cool fan that I paid nearly that much for, and it does blow air around very nicely and is very strong without being choppy. Have no idea if that's anything to go by! I don't use hairdryers but £300 does seem a lot to spend on something that either works or it doesn't. If it dried all my hair in 0.3 seconds and didn't leave it feeling all harsh and brittle then maybe

I'm sure it's a great hairdryer - it has a lot of good reviews but I wouldn't spend £300 on a hairdryer. I spent £100 on my GHD hairdryer and that more than does the job and smooths my hair as needed

My hairdresser bought one and is a convert - quicker, easier, lighter. I have very thick hair, so it takes around 5 mins to thoroughly dry with that.

Like you I think it probably is a really great hairdryer but at the end ot the day I really can't see much diff from my Karmin Salon Series, mine is also lightweight can dry from cool to hot setting, has a diffuser, is dual voltage, has a cool shot button and does the job well enough for me with absolutely no heat damage.

The big draw for me is the time it may save. I spend an hour each morning drying and straightening. If I can cut that down to 15 mins (as the reviews indicate that some peeps have) then it could very well be worth the money.
I take it from your post that you wash your hair every day? What do you put on your hair prior to blow drying it? |

How long does it take to dry your hair with a normal dryer?
Whilst the Dyson reduces frizz, I still needed straighteners to tame my hair. (Thick, wavy hair - people (usually thin haired people!) say it's a blessing. It's not. Ever!) Put it this way. I'm not rushing out to buy one, nor is it on my Christmas list. |

Don't waste your money.
Look on Argos for Andrew Barton's 2100 dryer 20 quid...fabulous. I had a Parlux professional dryer ...85 quid!!! which packed up so I bought one of these. I'm telling you it is every bit as good. Check out the reviews 😄 |
