I'm really surprised at the number of people who say Adam isn't well known over here - I think this has the potential to be a really good duet.

Conversely though, I don't think I would know The Weeknd if he (they?) sat beside me

James Arthur - meh!

It is all a matter of perception.

It was mentioned there's rumours the song will be Who wants to live forever and Queen might be making an appearance. They have form for coming on the show, I wonder if they would do that for Saara?

Wow. Looks like they really want Saara to win!
I will have to switch channels when James Arthur appears. Sorry Matt but I just can't stand him.
Btw Lambert has his own excellent albums - it's not all about Queen.

Interesting, I think Adam Lambert is a good choice, James Arthur is a bit of a strange one for Matt and considering Sam Smith is going to be there the fact he refused to duet makes Matt seem a bit of an afterthought (Siniging with Nicole would be better)

The Weeknd with 5am will seem like a hot mess I'm guessing but what performance of theirs isn't and at least the cast of thousands will be seen on stage this time
I don't get why Sam Smith refused to do a duet with Matt and yet he'll be in the audience watching. That's if I'm reading that bit right. Maybe Matt was better off with someone else. I have to say, James Arthur isn't exactly a good choice for Matt. They don't exactly match each other. Unless James takes the low notes and Matt takes the middle and high notes.

Maybe Sam doesn't rate Matt so doesn't want to sing with him?

I would say that they, or Cowell, still want 5 After Midnight to win. I don't doubt that the lads will be hugely popular with girls out there if girls start taking to them like they did with One Direction. For that reason, I think the producers/Cowell will be wanting a 5 After Midnight win. If it happens, it happens.

Other than the duet and the winners song do they have to sing another?

If so, do they have to choose from one of the songs they've already performed on the show?

James Arthur with Matt Terry
The Weeknd with 5AM
Adam Lambert with Saara Alto

Not looking that good for Saara really. I mean he can sing really well so I'm sure the actual vocal performance could be great, it's just I don't think people really know him at all in the UK. I feel mixed. It might be great and people won't care that he's a little anonymous in the UK.
I love Adam, I supported him during American Idol.
Adam is more well known here in the UK than you give him credit for.

Out of all the duets, Adam & Saara excites me the most. Roll on Saturday

Never heard of The Weeknd
and I feel James Arthur is well over rated

As far as I know, from recent years it has been:

Saturday: New song & duet
Sunday: Best of the series & winners song

The Weeknd is huge right now. He had some of the biggest hits of 2015. He's definitely for a young adult audience. He doesn't share an audience with Adam Lambert.

I only know of Adam Lambert because my sister used to watch American Idol (I personally don't like American TV). But 100% of people I know would have no idea who he is.

James Arthur, I feel no affection towards either but he has a big hit right now.

I think if it weren't for Adam being a really great singer, Saara would definitely have the worst deal. But I think because she likes him and they might do a great performance, it might work out well in the end.

I think Adam Lambert is more well known over here than people think. He has toured/is touring with Queen, and headlined at Isle of Wight festival in June. He appeals to many. He'll be incredible with Saara.

The problem is Saara was slightly cool in a certain quirky sense, but it was on a knife edge. Adam Lambert is literally the least cool act they could put her with. I think he doesn't sit well with opinion-forming audiences. I think beyond this forum and LGBT audiences, people don't really know him at all. But I would be absolutely delighted to be wrong about this because Saara honestly seems so nice, she proper deserves a chance.

I think all of them do but I feel like I mostly want Saara or 5AM to win.

|I suspect they mean tween/teen record downloading kids! It's strange to think that people don't look beyond charting acts any more - because Saara would never really fit into the chart act type anyway - and that's pretty much been known from the start. However, there is a vast world of commercial success available for Saara, just as there has been for Adam, if she finds a record company willing to invest the time/money and nurture her as an artist, rather than bunging out an album of covers in 3 months time, and watching everyone brand it a failure!

Adam Lambert IS cool, just not that poster's type of 'cool'. I'd highly recommend they look up Adam on American Idol singing Ring of Fire, Mad World (especially Mad World - watch and weep for the atrocity Emily subjected us to!!), and his own releases like Ghost Town, Whataya Want From Me, and For Your Entertainment. I'd put him firmly in the edgy category, and I think his and Saara's quirkiness will match up extremely well.

You also have to consider that the XF audience for the final expands a little (less than it once did), but there are the viewers who used to watch all the big talent shows, and were essentially driven away by Simon Cowell's obsessive chasing of the 'youth audience' - they'll come back for the final, and they will like seeing Adam Lambert far more than The Weeknd, I'm betting!

I mean he's not like The Weeknd, Drake (who is only just about cool), Kendrick Lamar, Major Lazer, Justin Timberlake (until that last track) or Frank Ocean. People that spread by word of mouth and airplay. I don't know anyone who knows Adam Lambert and if they did they would find him funny rather than cool, which I sort of do. No offense because he is super talented and deserves some success for it. But I've heard those to tracks and they're really too cheesey for me. I didn't want get past halfway through the tracks.

That being said, that is my particular peer group and my own personal sensibilities. But I can't imagine anyone thinking, 'what a cool guy'. It doesn't matter in the end probably. The most important thing is that he seems nice enough and he is up there with the best at singing so hopefully he'll put on a good show with Saara.

i liked him on AI, he was robbed that year and probably one of the two worst decisions i have seen on talent shows as far as who won the series, but not sure i would describe him as "edgy or cool" especially given more people probably know him from having been on Glee than for his music

Just a "random" vocalist who was good enough to fill those big boots left by Freddie Mercury, and tbh not many singers could do the same.

Drake - the biggest selling artist in the world - only 'just about cool' for you?!!! At least you admit this is purely about your personal sensibilities, but I promise you there is a vast range of music that people are into, and you're right at the far end of just one spectrum! After all, we're talking about the XF - the show who thinks it's totally OK to do My Heart Will Go On for the millionth time, or where Disco, Motown and Louis Walsh's cheesy picks are the height of entertainment. This is Saturday night TV we're talking about, not an R&B/Urban music gig! Adam Lambert will do very well, in this setting, and any 'cheese' in the performance will likely be exactly what the audience wants!

I really don't think it is that deep.
Saara is a big voiced theatrical singer who has expressed a desire to sing with Adam Lambert.
Cool ,not cool ,I don't think many will care as long as it sounds good ,and I am sure it will.
