CS: Unemployed Peter Barlow - A Nice Change?
I think it's good to have a few characters not in work, and not just stay-at-home mums. It represents the UK better than EVERYONE in the street having jobs in such a small area.. and unrealistic.
Peter will probably end up working and stop being a dole bum eventually, but makes a nice change to see him playing the freebie son part to perfection having a nice slap up meal etc ! ![]() I'm loving his return thus far as the leader of the Barlows, keeping Adam and Daniel in check and winding Tracy's neck in. |

I like how he is being now, with there being no affairs or struggles with alcohol but I bet it won't last. With all the emphasis on how important it is for him to be there for Simon's counseling session, I bet he ends up missing it and will look like the bad dad again with Nick saying I told you so.

Wonder where on the Street Daniel will end up working? Someone will create a vacancy for him, it a certainty. |

LOL to be fair, Peter is a really shit Dad. Simon has never been his number one priority, so if he does screw up, it isn't out of character at all. No doubt he'll miss it due to running off to see his secret lady friend, it's typical of him to put a woman before his son.
He had numerous "lady friends" and put himself first apart from briefly looking after Daniel when he was small. He had very little contact with Peter and his late twin sister when they were growing up in Scotland. http://coronationstreet.wikia.com/wiki/Barlow_family |

Funny how we barely have a mention of Simon's counseling until it is convenient just to let the writers make Peter mess up. But no matter the writers attempt I will still favour him over the likes of Nick. |

Completely agree.
I've said all along that it's interesting to have a character out of work and not just magically falling into the first job that miraculously opens up in the local pub/garage/cage/factory. |
