Brief and to the point...is Elf (2003) on telly this year?!
Or has Amazon snapped up exclusive rights?
I'm too poor (and tight) to buy a tv mag!
Please help!

I can't see 'Elf' listed at all over Christmas in the Total TV Guide magazine which is odd as this is normally shown on Sky.

My favorite Xmas movie too. Picked it up on Blu-Ray a few years ago for £3 or £4, been worth every penny.

Seen it a couple of times at college (our film society were showing it) and it's ok but wouldn't be my favourite Christmas movie. I know this is unpopular opinion but personally I found it a bit cringey and a bit stupid in spots. I'm probably in a minority though.

Not listed in Digiguide I'm afraid.
I have Freeview, Sky1, Sky Atlantic, Comedy Central and Gold channels installed and I have all the schedules including provisional listings for New Year.

No Elf yet you can be sure that another screening of 'The Holiday' (2006) and 'Love Actually' (2003) is on the cards.

Yes totally absent from the schedules this year.

Not even tucked away on any of the Sky Movie channels.

I am begining to wonder if the owners of the film decided not to sell the rights this year to uk networks. The only thing I could think of is it is being shown in a brand of cinemas. All very strange! The mystery continues!

It's strange that Sky tweeted that Channel 4 are showing Elf this year when it's not in their Christmas schedules. Unless it was pulled at the last minute whilst the schedules were being finalised. Such a shame Elf isn't being shown over Christmas though.

There was a big deal made of it when it was announced that Sky had bought the rights to Elf and Channel 4 wouldn't be showing it last year (or the year before, I can't remember). So, if anything, surely Sky should be showing it somewhere? If not and the rights are out there to be snapped up, surely Channel 4 should buy them back and show it soon? It is a loved Christmas film and will certainly get the audience.

I got the 2 disc edition from Sainsburys a few years ago for £3, so if it isn't on TV anywhere, I can just watch that instead.

Sky seem to believe that Channel 4 have the rights this year.

Someone no doubt has the rights but has overlooked it..

Neither on Netflix or Amazon Prime either, so looks like DVD or Blu-Ray only, or the pay to download or the other way, which I now do a combination of.

Maybe it's a ploy to sell more DVD's/Blu-Rays? If it is then it's working as they're both out of stock on Amazon. (Still available from third party sellers though)

This is why physical media still has a role for decades to come.

Netflix and Amazon don't have it? it's ok we have the DVD to stick on..
