I liked his three dance choices especially Ricky Whittle who is often overlooked.
I wonder if his DVD is worth a look?
Is it a workout DVD?

Len's replacement from ballroom dancing? There are still one or two Cliftons that are not on SCD yet.

He was also on This Morning the other week and talked about how much he liked Ricky Whittle and how he was "his winner", but the public chose Chris and he respected that.

I do really hope producers find a replacement who has experience judging the 10 dances. I have a feeling they will - Alesha was different, they still had Len on the panel, for one thing. I would like to think they recognise that they need at least one judge with relevant knowledge!

If they don't, then the show will become a total farce. But there are names from the ballroom world being bandied about, so I think they will.

Personally I would like to see someone who has not been involved with the show in anyway before.

I agree with you, on both counts

Len has the knowledge, but he's quite inconsistent when it comes to applying it to his markings. Does it make it better when he does it knowing it's wrong?

I'd agree with Ian Waite, or bring back Arlene Philips

Don't know if they're still there or not but I can't find them on You Tube anymore. They used to have the eliminated pro helping out with the red button commentary the week after they were eliminated back in 2007.
I well remember the red button, but I'm intrigued about who the two couples were that you mention in "he botched commenting on the best two latin dances of the night and possibly of the series?"

All the talk from Strictly crew suggests they're going to get an experienced judge to replace Len. All the talk from the papers is about Anton, presumably because they're short of a story and don't know what else to write.

I've seen Helen Richey's name thrown into the hat, she's a great Judge too

It's Anton du Beke's time.
Turned 50, became a father, the judge's panel beckons 😎
I agree, keep it in house and he ain't ever gonna win the show so he either needs to be added to the panel or dropped.

Just please, please, please NEVER let him sing again.

Matt DA's salsa and Alesha's ccc - he didn't seem to realise that they were very good dances or recognise this in his commentary. I didn't help that he just didn't like Matt DA probably because he was quite matey with Vincent.

You say that but at least she's wasn't afraid of paddles under 5 or with people not liking her. That said she's a chereographer and we do need a ten dance expert.

I disagree I don't think every pro has to be in it to win it so speak. Anton has done some interesting stuff with both Katie and Lesley in the last two years I think there is a place of him. He's also one of the program's most recognisable and personable pros or maybe he could be a roving reporter behind the scenes type guy.

Len always used to say Alesha was his favourite female celebrity, I find it odd he's not mentioned her when being asked about the best dances and it doesn't look like she's featured in he's DVD.

maybe her 'judging' put him off her I think it did a lot of people and they didn't have to work with her.

I don't think so he was one of Alesha's biggest supporters when she was a judge maybe he was disappointed she left.

Interesting- thanks. Not heard stories about him not getting along with MattDA or Vincent either.

I miss Vincent...<sigh>

Politics. Alesha left for a rival ITV show. She's now officially an un-person to the stalinist Beeb. She needs to avoid umbrellas and bridges.

Oh don't be silly! He's about as charismatic and an old facecloth abandoned on a sink.

He is NOT a presenter, he is not overly bright and he simply does not have the gravitas to do it.

His forays into TV presenting have been a utter disaster. Just because he's there does not mean he deserves the slot.

Fresh blood please - and please not some po-faced ballroom 'expert' from an obscure off the map town. They are never interesting. And brains would be nice. And some wit? I know, I know - too much to hope for
This in spades, he is neither interesting or funny.

I don't remember Matt DA's salsa, but (and I can't believe I'm saying this!) to be fair to Anton, Alesha's cha was NOT that good. Her knees were bent nearly the whole time, which - next to being off time - is the absolute biggest NO NO in cha cha cha.

Apparently it wasn't the fact that she left for a rival tv show that upset the Strictly bods, it was the way in which she did it. A lot goes on behind the scenes that we do not get to hear about.
