Let's face it - you're the producer of a really popular TV show, it's your job to make it a success.

They wanted the feel good factor this year, with a sprinkle of drama through Martin, and that's the show we got. I have to say, I think all the contestants were fab. People complain here about Larry and Wayne being awful, it was fairly minor, and in all other respects, they were great camp mates.

Anyway, my point was that Philip Schofield commented that what Britain needed was a happy, fun camp after an absolutely mad and depressing 2016. The producers delivered. The hope that ratings speak for themselves.

If the show is still getting a lot of viewers, or even more than the last couple of years, they won't change anything because they won't feel that they have to.

The viewers are getting the show that they deserve. If they watch something in big numbers it's a validation and thumbs up for the show producers.
Only the viewers can make things change by fewer people watching, thus forcing changes to be made.
If the viewers are complacent, if the show producers are complacent, absolutely nothing will change because all the signs are there that they are giving their viewers exactly what they want and the viewers don't want anything to change.

Seeing somebody like Scarlett talking about nothing in the Bush Telegraph so often in every series, seeing some camp-mates being promoted over others who are reduced to bit parts, the ratings tell you that this is exactly what the viewers want.

... a swamp. With some real crocs (and without their snouts taped up).
yes , animals that fight back, instead of wee insects on a plate and taped claws on crabs. actually the bush tucker thing I can do without, its boring and silly, I prefer the fun trials I noticed they were put in that twirly thing that makes them all dizzy but they didnt use it for that purpose before the cyclone, I always tho;ught on the other show that used it that it was funny when they staggered about going the wrong way, cruel I know

Will always watch it but reckon this one has been the most boring so far, couldn't even get into the trials being the same old thing, but I wouldn't like it to end tbh.

I am most certainly in the minority. I loved this series. Really enjoyed the happiness and the laughs - I actually enjoy watch a group of people get on. Im not going to let the tasks deflate me
if i want to see fights and bitching then i will watch CBB in Jan lol

I always swear I'm going to stop watching after the opening show, but then something usual draws me in. Last year, it was Chris Eubank and the Lady C situation; this year it was the Martin thing.

I can't bear the inane bug and animal trials, though - just not entertaining.

They need to make some changes, it's boring and too repetitive now.
Why? Ratings are up and they are a commercial channel.

I'm bored with it too but unlike the X Factor it is still one of the most watched shows on ITV so it isn't going anywhere anytime soon I'm afraid.

I usually feel bored by the trials and prefer to watch them just talking in the jungle.

I agree with you, itsvery easy to watch , I did not like the follow on show due to the dreadful presenters. And I did not like seeing Scarlett every two minutes and her always in the bush telegraph. I am really surprised with all the adverse comments about her that she won.
Maybe next year they will have NO awful wannabes. Just normal contestants with no pushing for the winner from the producers?

Didn't enjoy it as much as I usually do, recorded and didn't bother watching the final show when I heard Scarlett had won it, she wasn't a worthy winner for me.

I too felt fed up being force fed the girl night after night, and I liked her on Gogglebox.

Changes for the better for me would be that the same person can't do trials consecutive nights, always want to see how the others would cope with trials not the same one or two.

Too many bug trials this year imo, bugs when you are standing, sitting or laying down are still just bugs!
