Claudia and AJ
Rumba to ‘Bleeding Love’ by Leona Lewis
Quickstep to ‘When You’re Smiling’ by Andy Williams

Danny and Oti
Salsa to the track ‘Vivir Mi’ Vida by Marc Anthony
American Smooth to ‘Misty Blue’ by Dorothy Moore

Louise and Kevin
Samba to ‘Brazil’ by Thiago Thomé
Tango to ‘Glad All Over’ by the Dave Clark Five

Ore and Joanne
Quickstep to ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl?’ by Jet
Argentine Tango to ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’ by Kylie Minogue

An Argentine Tango to Can't Get You Out Of My Head?
Real Brazilian music for a Samba twice in the same series??? It's a miracle, hallelujah, praise the Lord almighty in heaven!!! Amen, brothers and sisters!

Well, I am thinking that after seeing the stonking Samba Danny did to traditional music, Kevin probably begged to TPTB to let him have traditional music as well. I think traditional music makes all the difference, especially when is well danced to. I just can't warm to Sambas and Salsas danced to some anodyne disco track even they're danced to perfection. Traditional music just gets to you.

I can only imagine that they're doing a "happy" Tango to Glad All Over, like Joanne did with that Say Geronimo song in the first week, all cutesy, light and fluffy. Can't see that one working, I'm afraid.

Miraculously, the choices are mostly good this week, the only ones sticking out being Ore's AT and Louise's Tango.

On music alone -and before seeing training- I'm guessing:

Claudia/AJ Rumba to ‘Bleeding Love’ - popular song, chance for lots of grown-up emoting for Claudia. Tick

Quickstep to ‘When You’re Smiling’ -personally, I love this tune, and may well suit the smiley Claudiar really well. Tick

D'Oti Salsa to ‘Vivir Mi’ Vida -less well known track, but Oti might pull off another fab "authentic" piece of choreo. Tick

American Smooth to ‘Misty Blue’- LOVE this song, and given it's so slow, we might -for once- get to see Danny do something without Oti's trademark freneticism. Tick

Louise/Kevin Samba to ‘Brazil’ -ok track, and lots of scope for being all "authentic" (the show's been far kinda to sambas this year than tangos). Tick

Tango to ‘Glad All Over’ -ffs! Are we going to have to put up with a Kellie60sTango#2 ?!? This is where theories of a Clifton Bias look pretty ropey. Godawful choice. Cross.

Ore/Jo Quickstep to ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl?’ - can't recall who last danced to this, but it's suitably upbeat to probably be popular with the public. Dot.

Argentine Tango to ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’ -if they sing the sultry version of this, it could be simultaneously popular with the public and suitable for an AT. Tick
Kara & Artem did that for their QS

I hate 'I cant you get out of my head', most annoying song ever! Dont care what version they use I will have to mute it!
Not a fan of both of Ore's songs

Glad all over - Whilst not what you would call a traditional Tango music, this will probably be a crowd pleaser I reckon, clever picking I think, and a tradiotional samba song. I think Louise has been very lucky with their music choices.

Disappointed in Claudia's Rumba song, soooo dreary, for once i wish they'd gone more contemporary. However at least its not from 'Frozen' or 'High School Musical' so be grateful for that

Danny has the best choices this week I would say!

Bleeding Love is a big plus for Claudia's Rumba. If they can't generate chemistry to that....

It gives them a good chance by the Rumba, though AJ will have to adapt very well in the QS to make Claudia look good enough.
I am not sure, Bleeding Love, to me seems to fast for a Rumba.

Bleeding Love was used for a Rumba on DWTS in 2008 for Cody Linley and Julianne Hough.

Cody was 19 (or thereabouts) when he competed.. so you can see their thinking with giving this to AJ and Claudia.

I think the producers have lost it! Glad all over for a tango and Kylie for an AT?
Hmmmm yes.
Bizarre

Love both Quicksteps, and Danny's got a great Salsa song. Never heard of his AS song before, will have to look it up!

From what Jo said tonight, it sounds as if they've rearranged Can't Get You Out Of My Head to something suitable for an Argentine Tango, so it'll probably be ok. I don't really mind Bleeding Love for a Rumba either. Kevin & Louise's Tango song is the worst of the bunch I think.

I agree it's horrific.

Now what was that about favouritism many have been banging on about?

Kylie Minogue - Cant Get You Out Of My Head - The Abbey Road Sessions

or

this version...

either these would work. All it takes is a bit of imagination with the arrangement

I've still got my fingers crossed for Ore, hope it works out great for him

Aliona was the one who started this a few weeks back about Louise & how the Producers will be pushing for Louise.

Kellie's tango in the final was spectacular.

I'm really hoping that AJ and Claudia will get many tens. Their music choices are pretty good and Claudia and AJ deserve to be in the final.

Claudia and AJ
Decent number for the Rumba and at least gives them a base to perform from, with the story of the dance. When You're Smiling is a slightly slower number for a Quickstep which may give her time to keep up with the track and the choreography.

Danny and Oti
Fantastic song for the Salsa, following hot on the heals of a great Samba number - he should have enough about him to nail this as long as the external choreography works in his favour. American Smooth song denotes a slower number which could expose his technical issues.

Louise and Kevin
Glad All Over and Tango - ignoring the melody and rhythm the actual lyrical nature of the song doesn't work for a Tango... since when did being 'Glad' come into it? The Samba song is excellent and gives Louise the chance to have a breakthrough with some performance wise.

Ore and Joanne
They may just get away with the choice for the Argentine Tango if it gets the same treatment as Telephone last year. Listening to the alternatives they've got something to work with. The Quickstep is very fast and my concern is Jo may expose his technique in just keeping up with the music.

Interesting - I'd say Claudia and AJ have the best songs as a whole. Danny and Louise both have excellent latin songs but their ballroom numbers could be better for them as dancers. Ore has the worst of the picks though he might be able to do something with the Argentine Tango; I fear for him with the Quickstep.

True; my concern is his hold lacked strength in the Foxtrot and now he has to keep it in place at speed.

Personally, I think Claudia's got the best music this week, and you're in the minority on this board if you think "Glad All Over" is a plus-point for Louise. But bias theories are the grist that keep the internet-mill going.

When my son was little he loved Glad All Over. He is now 56! I know we all moan about the songs being too modern but this is going the other way.

Or, on the other hand, give him room to perfect the steps without having to rush!

Kevin will put some kind of 60s spin on it and make it work
he loves a retro theme and it seems to work for him
I think his dances seem to be popular because of this

doing a dance with no bells and whistles (costumes, staging and music) is where his partners show their faults

But two dances where she can't be lifted, and where the height difference is a disadvantage. And I sense that the judges are waiting to say that there isn't a rumba connection between the two. Plus she'll almost certainly get the graveyard slot. On the other hand Claudia is more experienced as a competitor than the other three combined. And if she can get to the final, she can play the gymnastics card to the full.

So this is the best they could come up with for the semi final, is it? Whoever's responsible, line the culprits up against a wall - any offers to man the machine guns?
I would do but my aim's rubbish.

AJ will do everything to show Claudia's flexibility in Rumba... gonna be amazing again.
