No celeb has yet got an average score of 37 or above.
Danny's already at 35.8, and with many people predicting at least one 40 in the SF, do you think he could be the one to do it?

Yes, 110%. He has two very strong dances this week and I think there's a strong possibility he'll get exceptionally high scores this week, and I'm sure that if he gets to a final it will be more than possible for him to get top marks in each of his dances!

I also think his average will be 37.0 or more by the end of the series

It's not mathematically impossible but I think it's highly unlikely. He's got 394 points so far and would need 592 after all 16 dances to have an average of 37.0. That would require him to only lose two marks during the rest of the series. Not impossible but incredibly unlikely IMO.

I do think he will be the first male to break a 36 point average. That could easily happen if he has a good night on Saturday.

Do you think he will beat the Natalie Gumede average which is 36.87?

I doubt he'll get 40 for both semi-final dances, so he'd likely have to do a Caroline Flack in the final to end up with a 37 average.

In other words, it would entirely depend on what mood Craig is in!

Whether he breaks it or not, whether he wins or not, he'll go down as the best male celebrity dancer this show has EVER seen imo. I would add even best male on dancing with the stars.

I think he has a shot - he'll be really close barring any disasters happening. That will really confuddle people who still really want to think that the judges are unfair to him every week.

The semi-finals are notoriously disappointing with the celebs struggling to learn 2 routines. I think even Danny will struggle to get perfect dances. On the other hand, the judges do tend to throw 10s at their favourite once they get behind someone so Danny might be 'lucky' that way.

Having done the maths, (and using that there are 5 more dances to go)

if he got 5 more 40s his average would be 37.125
if he got 4x40 and a 39 his average would be 37.0625 and
if he got 3x40 and 2x39 his average would be 37

So it's do-able, but pretty unlikely. And given that no matter how much the judges may think any of his remaining dances might deserve 40s, they are trying to maintain the illusion that the others have a chance in order to keep up the tension.

But given that Craig's the usual 9-giver, you'd have to be looking at the other three judges being 10-givers and for Craig to give 3x10s and 2x9s. And he's going to be wanting to share out the very few he gives with Louise (probably), so good luck there!

I wish I was that confident. Learning two dances must be stressful and on top of that
lifts, will be very interesting. I think there wil be mistakes. Specially for the men, Danny and Ore, harder for them.

I think he could do it but I think in the end, he'll average 36.5 or something like that.

He should do it. He is by far the best dancer ever on Strictly and the scores will reflect this in the end hopefully.

We see what we want but Danny is not a better dancer than Natalie Gumede, Pixie Lott, Kara Tointon, Scott Maslen or Ricky Whittle. I would guess that Colin Jackson and Jill Halfpenny are superior too but I didn't see enough of them to include here.

Agreed, Maggie - Danny is a good dancer, but not GREAT. And sorry, but in my opinion, neither of his 40's were warranted.

I'd also add Caroline and Kelly Brook to that list. (Jill was by far the best Latin dancer there's ever been on the show, with Gumede not far behind.)

I know her Paso was a bit ropey, but ability-wise, she was damn well near the top.

Danny has five marked dances still to do - so a total of 200 points on offer. By my calculations, he needs 196 of those points to overtake Natalie Gumede and become the highest scoring Strictly celebrity of all time. He needs 198 of them to hit an average score of 37. So it's difficult, with virtually no room for error, but it is doable.

I think he is better than Scott Maslen and Ricky Whittle but apart from that, I agree.

He's easily the best male celeb they've had on & I hope his scores come end of the series reflect that. Would also be nice if he had the glitterball to show for it

this is a good question. if i had to call it i'd say he is more showy in his abilities, but she was more engaging in hers and should score overall higher than him.

Both Scott and Ricky were better at ballroom than Danny.

I'd throw Harry into that mix, too.

But I don't think Harry was as good at latin otherwise we could throw Gavin Henson in for his ballroom. I've not included Patrick Robinson or Simon Webbe, both of whom were good at both disciplines.

I like Danny but best ever is ridiculous.
