Just now on Capital its been reported that Simon has persuaded Harry Styles to perform with Matt this weekend after talks with Sam Smith fell through.

And there was me thinking this was Saara's for the taking

Mmmmmm

It smacks of desperation on Simon's part if this is true *rolls eyes*

Doesn't really matter too much who wins. Hoping they all pull out good performances. Harry Styles is an odd choice but may be interesting.

If this is true, it shows that Simon is desperate for Matt to win. Styles on his own would attract a massive amount of support that would all automatically vote for Matt.

Total joke

Saaras support is too big now. She looks unbeatable. But ya never know.

You know Simon doesn't hand pick the final line up of guests and that it's done with a team of producers and ITV effectively get the final say?

If Matt wins it will have very little to do with talent or his support. It will be down to fans of Harry Styles. This is why I actually don't agree with these duets.

People need to remember who they're voting for but needless to say Harry will persuade a good number to vote for Matt that otherwise probably wouldn't.

These duets can influence the result far more than a few Finns who might try to vote on the app.

This could give Matt the edge so Saara is going to need her fans to vote more than ever this weekend.

Lets be honest the whole show is fixed, the producer/Cowell would not want Saara to win the show, they would much rather have Matt Terry or 5AM as the winners.

Getting Harry Styles to duet with Matt Terry is the X factors lifeline which would ensure Matt wins the competition.

Saara deserves to win she has been miles better than anyone!

I suppose if that's the best they can find in the very short time they have. He's a better choice but still not an ideal one. They didn't exactly have enough time to find a good enough singer after Sam Smith refused to duet with him. I suppose this will be the best they can do. I'm not saying Harry's not a good singer, just that I don't think his voice will match Matt's.

If so, I won't bother watching the final. Heavily manipulated nonsense.

Strange that there's no mention of this on The X Factor's Facebook page.

Correct, although they don't usually announce them officially till the end of the week. This is pure rumour mill which Capital reported this morning

Personally, I don't like manipulation in anyone's favour. It should be a level playing field for everyone. Perhaps it's time to scrap the duets - they usually end up being a bit of a dog's dinner anyway, with lack of rehearsal time, contestants being star-struck and the ridiculous thing where the contestants start singing, then stop to introduce their duet parter, which completely ruins the flow of the song!

Unfortunately nothing on this show is a level playing field, and never has been.

Well, the duets have never been fair. Some get Beyonce, others get Jason Donovan.

Saara has been pushing for Adam Lambert for weeks, so if it effects her chances, I don't think we can blame the producers.

I just can't imagine this tbh.

Are you saying that Saara has made the wrong choice with Adam ?

I disagree, they'll be a perfect match & if they sing one of Queen's classic songs like The Show Must Go On, it will be a fantastic performance & I for one is looking forward to Saturday

So what if Harry helps him to win? Surely the idea is to encourage people to vote.

Makes the entire competition a farce. There will be lots of people voting for Matt simply because they're fans of Harry. He has 30 Million followers on twitter, it seems they've just tried to get the most popular person they could to duet with Matt.

Many of these will not really voting for Matt at all, they'll be voting for Harry.

This really does smack of a desperate attempt to try and get Matt more votes.

As I've said before I really don't agree with these duets.

You're not telling me it's always been Matt's dream to perform with Harry Styles. Not a chance. It's just been done to give him a better chance of winning.

At least Saara has chosen to sing with one of her idols. She hasn't worried about the fact Adam isn't that well known here in the UK she just wanted to have the opportunity to sing with someone she's been a fan of for many years.

It's nice to see everyone on this forum got their panties in a bunch once a report of a possibly more famous and likable duet partner than James Arthur came through for Matt. We will see.

Now what if Saara had chosen to sing with someone like Sia, whose video for Chandelier has been watched billions of times on YouTube - would that have been a farce as well?
