When cinemas get on average of 100+ mainstream films a year on varying genres ranging from comedies, drama, history, romance, spy, sci-fi, horror, fantasy, animated, etc. I too don't get people that say they have super-hero fatigue when on average three comic book genre films get released a year.
Cinema has room for any genre. |

There have been 6 major comic book movies released this year. 5 of them are in the top 10 grossing films of the year (X-men is the only one that didn't make it in). I don't think they'll be going anywhere fast

This year has been an exception with six superhero films but on average there is usually three to four.
2015: Avengers:Ultron, Ant-Man, Fantastic 4 2014: Guardians/Galaxy, Captain America II, X-Men:Future/Past, Amazing Spider-Man II 2013: Man/Steel, Wolverine, Iron-Man 3, Thor: Dark World 2012: Dark Knight Rises, Dredd, Avengers, Amazing Spider-Man. However you look at it, they're all evenly spread out throughout their individual years within a plethora of other genre movies released on a weekly basis. The people that moan that there's too many are the ones that don't go to the cinema often and 'blinded' by the brilliant and clever studio marketing for these comic book films. They're the ones that tend to only see the huge cardboard standees attracting their eyes like a magpie to glittering foil when in fact they should open their eyes to the many independent and lesser promoted films that show up in the cinema listings. |

6 films is becoming the norm over the next few years. Marvels output grows to 3 a year, Sony have another Spider-man project on the go for 2018 (Lord/Miller animation) and DC will be churning out 2 a year as well.
And then there's Fox. They have a few untitled releases staked over the next few years as well. They're not likely to be chasing after another Fantastic Four after whatever the hell that thing they released last year was, but there's still Logan, Deadpool 2, New Mutants, probably another X-Men. And also the extended universe they have the rights to that may get a look in |

Dredd's not a "superhero". Neither is Batman for that matter... |

I'm well aware they do not have 'super powers'. I have over 12,000 comics in my collection and still growing. I have every single issue of 2000AD from No.1 to date, including the red Space Spinner, 'Bio-tronic' Stickers, Flesh Data Code and every free gift that came after, so I don't need telling any technicalities about Dredd. I was making a point in defence that there are too many superhero/comic films. |
