I've been with them since 1995 on contract - never had any reason to move

O2 have gone downhill since they have changed from BT CELLNET, the network isn't really that good as calls sometimes don't connect and text messages fail alot plus the fact a few people have been on the contract and when they cancelled they were still getting charged so I wouldn't recommend them, give T-Mobile a go.

Orange do the same deal as O2 thereselves. Plus they also match other networks offers.
Their customer service is very good. I think (cant remember though) they were voted 7th best for customer service |

In the last 7 or 8 weeks the 02 signal at times has gone weak and the odd text once in a while takes two trys to send. Apart from that 02 have been a good network. StevenGray16 says give T-Mobile a try I would not go with them ror they dont have good signal covarage in some areas. If you dont want to go for 02 give Orange a try. I never used Orange but hear they are one of the best networks just now.

I've been on just about every network, and i like 02 the best... Probably because of the free 300 texts a month thing though.

Darren T-Mobile gets a good signal here. Most my family are on the T-Mobile network and have no problems at all alot of them switched from O2 (including me) as they kept on taking our credit away and the service was really expensive. I agree about Orange though they are good. |

I often work in quite remote areas and it is interesting to note that whilst my colleagues on T-mobile and Orange often have no signal, those of us on Vodafone & O2 obtain near full strength signals. (That's the difference between covering 99% of the country and 99% of the population). O2 also works well abroad using international roaming. Anyone who was charged line rental after having cancelled a contract would be entitled to an immediate refund by their bank under the DD guarantee, if the user had not cancelled the DD mandate at the time of contract cancellation. I can't really comment on the text service as I usually use the phone for voice calls. |

There are a few problems with the service granted.
Just like every other mobile phone provider in one way or another though! I'd recommend that tariff on o2. I've just taken it up with a black Moto V3. Can't beat it. If you put up with the poser comments from your mates then you'll do fine too.

I have a pay as you go sim card for 02. Having been on T-Mobile since 1998, then to Orange 2 years ago i was shocked at 02! Really shocked! lets just say i would never get a contract with them!
The call quaility was very poor compared to T-Mobile and Orange. I believe they do use Enhanced Full Rate? Text messages took a lot longer to come through then on the 2 networks i was use too. Then i was charged 50p A MINUTE to talk to customer services!!! Also delivery reports do not work unless you mess around putting a silly code in front manually! Reception was always there, but the call quality is appauling! Would not recommend them. |

Orange refused to let me upgrade to that tariff so bye bye them and I don't ever want to use Vodafone again....only solution was to turn to the devil I know in o2.

So cancel the orange contract, then reapply for the tariff you want. The 500 txt tariff is an online tariff, so if you got your old contract from a shop they probably won't upgrade it.
I've just come out of a contract with 02 and i'm glad i did, their customer service is appalling and are very awkward to give you the answers you want (and probably need). The only 02 tariff i would recommend is the free payg sims they give away on a regular basis. |

last year when i said i was leaving to o2, orange put me on the 200 mins + 500 texts for £30. they said they would only do it for 12 months.
just rang up today to see what they can offer me, and they said they can do the same tarriff if i want it still. something to do with the advert currently on tv i think, about looking after current customers i think |
