Is that a knee-jerk reaction or based on actual usage? (Why do I suspect the former?)
Personally, and having actually read the review, it is exactly what I thought it was. A modern-day 14" telly that you can have in the kitchen, bedroom, etc. |

My first reaction was that it was very expensive for a tablet and that you can get them much cheaper than £299.
However, having done a little research, the cheap tablets aren't 14" models and when compared to the prices I saw, £299 doesn't seem bad at all. If someone is happy to watch TV in this way it probably works out cheaper than paying a second TiVo installation and ongoing fee. Personally, i'll stick with using my Samsung 10" tablet if I want to do this. The model I have is currently selling for £259, so when you look at it this way, another £40 for a 40% bigger screen isn't bad at all. I say this as someone who scoffed at this when I first read about it, but if you're in the market for a large screen tablet it looks ok. If you just want it instead of another TiVo, you might as well buy a larger screen Android TV for half the price! There are also rumours that VM are going to let customers pay for this monthly with their VM bill. So, if you can't afford to pay upfront and would be getting a new tablet on credit, you would be paying a lot more than £299! I wonder what make it will be? Someone on another forum has said that VM will be giving them out to some customers for free, so it might be worth hanging on if you want one just in case

Well, like I said, I initially thought the same.
Upon reflection though, I now think that if you want a large tablet and/or can't afford to pay upfront it seems ok to me. It could save money in the long run if you are able to use it instead of a 2nd TiVo. If you don't really want a large tablet, an Android TV would be cheaper. What are the reasons you don't care for it? |

I do not understand why some one would spend that much on another TV ?
When you can have 3 or 4 TiVo boxes in your home and have TV to each one which can be any size you wish including UHD 3D Smart TV's that also have Freeview & Freesat built in . You can already use a app or internet software to watch VM channels any place on a laptop or other computers .... and for £299 you can get a nice laptop that can do other thinks when not watching TV .... |
