What a terrific job she is doing at holding May and the Three Brexiteers to account over Brexit, she is proving far more effective than Corbyn and Farron. Unsurprisingly she is receiving death threat from some loony Brexiteers, but she is not letting them stopping her from speaking out.

Certainly she is my politician of 2016.

She is having calls from her constituency to be deselected. There is so much anger from those she is meant to be representing because they voted overwhelmingly to leave and they see their MP as not working for their interests but her own.

You need people brave enough to campaign for what they believe is right, whether you agree with them or not, in order to have a healthy political system. The last thing we need is for intimidation by newspapers and social media mobs to stifle debate.

She's ghastly. Totally self-absorbed, uninformed, and rude to boot.

I'm a Tory voter but let's just say I wouldn't be devastated if we lost Broxtowe at the next election.

In her constituency it was 55/45 in favour of leave, so hardly overwhelming. And do we want independent MPs, or just nodding donkeys that do watever the majority want.

They should wait for the opportunity to vote her out instead of threatening her. She is free to go against the wishes of her constituents, they get their right to deliver their verdict the next time an election is held.

And what about Leave MPs who represent Remain areas - should they be threatened with deselection?

She'll U-turn by then. She'll be a pro-Brexiter by then out of fear of losing.

Of course not. Kate Hoey for example is a little nutty, but a hardworking independent MP who works hard for her constituents in strongly Remain Lambeth.

Most of those MP's have not called those who voted for them as bigots and racists. She has rattled a lot of feathers and she doesn't see that she has done anything wrong.

When has she called her constituents bigots and racists?

Surprisingly it was before the GE and she won! But her seat isa marginal so she shouldn't take it for granted.

Wow she's really got the brexiters on here riled, which must mean she's a pretty respectable person.
I'll forward to hearing her contributions

She said some of her constituents that came to see her complaining about immigration were racist - not all of them! If she said no one in her constituency was racist she would then by lying. There are still lots of racists in the UK, its good an MP isn't sugar coating this.

She is rude, disloyal to her party and the PM, insults her constituents collectively for voting leave calling them all ignorant bigots and is an endless self publicist.

But apart from that I am sure she is a great MP.

This is Broxtowe. We don't have a problem with immigrants. When you explain that to them, they get it. Not all of them – some people have prejudices, some people are frankly racist, but there are many who just don't know the argument.'
Sounds perfectly sensible to me. I don't doubt for a minute that some are 'frankly racist' as is the case with most of the country. You're making out that she called her constitutents racists and that's not the case.
