She is rude, disloyal to her party and the PM, insults her constituents collectively for voting leave calling them all ignorant bigots and is an endless self publicist.

But apart from that I am sure she is a great MP.
Insulted *some* of her constituents. And if those expressed racist opinions to her they deserve to he insulted.

She is a hideous self absorbed steaming turd.
I had to suffer the horrible woman presenting my local news when I was younger, I couldn't stand her then, I think she has got worse over time with her ever increasing state of self importance.
Hopefully the good people of Broxtowe will see sense and get rid of the old hag.

Wonderful woman. Trying to save the country almost single-handedly. We need her at the top, now.
Of course, everyone can submit to Brexit and throw their working rights away https://politicalscrapbook.net/2016/...-leave-the-eu/ but a price worth paying, right??

I don't think she is motivated by her having been demoted.

I think it's partly that, and same goes for Nicky Morgan. Both of them have a rather inflated sense of their own importance.

And both had their personal high acheiving bubbles burst by another ambitious woman. What a bitchfest the tory party has become.

Except she wasn't demote. She resigned from her ministerial role when May took over.

Adds, must be fantastic having Rees-Smug on your side. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...-a7459336.html
Bye bye worker's safety rights along with their other rights. Just like India...ah, progress.

Enjoy.

This

Rude, ignorant and miserable
Having met her in a work capacity, I can certainly vouch for her being the first.

So pathetic. She disagrees with your ilk and she's suddenly 'self-important, hideous, a hag, a steaming turd.'
And to top it off some faintly misogynistic stuff about a 'bitchfest'.

She's rattled your collective cages quite evidently, which is most gratifying.

I don't think she was sacked either. She resigned as I recall.

I think she likes the attention. A political troll perhaps.
Certainly grabs the attention of real life Internet trolls.

When did she call all her constituents ignorant bigots? Or are you making things up?

I don't agree with her on a lot of things, but it's clear she's sincere in her beliefs and places doing what (she thinks) is best for the country and her constituents over personal popularity.

The fact SOME* people are so quick to believe that her recognition that some of her constituents are racist means she thinks all of her constituents are racist somewhat confirms why we have a system where elected representatives who have the time to read up on things, research facts and evaluate large volumes of information vote on our behalf.

* I'm wondering how many people reading this thread will assume that I've said that all people who disagree with me and/or Soubry are idiots, thus further proving my point.

Most MPs are remain supporters and I have no issue with them. They are all generally decent people who I differ from in terms of their views on Brexit. Most of them are seeking to understand why their constituents voted leave in most cases and respond rather than throwing abuse at them and calling them ignorant white working class people.

But Soubry is quite another matter. It is not her sex or her party - just her. She is Just not a particularly pleasant person and lacking in class.

Having supposed principles does not justify plain rudeness.

Yes, you don't hear John Redwood slagging off his constituents for voting Remain. He has said that while he has differing viewpoints to them, he will work hard to ensure that their concerns are considered and that any deal will ultimately be advantageous to all rather than just those who voted Leave. That's how you address your constituents when it is clear that the MP and those he/she represents are from different spectrums on some issues.

I agree with this. However, her job is to represent her constituents, not to vote based on her personal beliefs. Ultimately the voters will judge her at the next election.

Where in the link is she calling all her constituents bigots and racists? You are digging yourself further into a hole.

I am a life long Labour voter, but have a great deal of respect for Anna Soubry. Sometimes, it fells like Anna is the only MP willing to be vocal about how ridiculous Brexit is. Only wish we had more MPs like her, who are willing to speak sense & argue for the greater good (even if the majority of their constituents disagree)

Anna likes to whip up hatred against the elderly, constantly repeating the claim that they "stole the future" from the younger generation by disagreeing with them on EU membership. A divisive, bigoted and thoroughly unpleasant woman who shows nothing but intolerance to anyone with an opposing view.

I respect a large number of Remain MPs- but never Soubry, who probably did more damage to the Remain campaign than anyone other than Cameron.

You need people brave enough to campaign for what they believe is right, whether you agree with them or not, in order to have a healthy political system. The last thing we need is for intimidation by newspapers and social media mobs to stifle debate.
...but that's exactly the vile sentiments that The Sun, Mail, Express and (sadly) Telegraph are promoting hence you are now getting the most horrendous social media expressions of this Brexit extremism and mob rule, e.g. "She's got to be Jo Cox'd now".

That is what this country is coming to now.

She has spent a lifetime berating and attacking the poor, it must be great for her to have another group of people to demonise.

She is having calls from her constituency to be deselected. There is so much anger from those she is meant to be representing because they voted overwhelmingly to leave and they see their MP as not working for their interests but her own.
And Kate Hoey's constituents voted overwhelmingly to Remain and they see their MP not working for their interests but her own.
