Does anyone know why this great station closed within a few hours of announcement the other day? Liked the variety of shows, and some good presenters as well.

Just the back of 8pm on the 8th and it appears to have closed down early:

Thank you for accessing the Scotland69am website It is with regret and sadness I have to inform you that Scotland69am will no longer exist as of 9pm December 6, 2016. The Management of Scotland69am has taken the decision to close the Station as this time and date. On Behalf everyone at the station, thank you for your support and listening.

I really enjoyed the station, but always wondered how it was funded.

Maybe a hobby or a vanity project?

They were asking for feedback via a questionnaire on their website a week or so ago.

Perhaps they didn't get many responses...I did respond (positively) but maybe I was one of only a few.

Anyway really sad to see it close, and if any of the guys involved are reading this, thanks for all your work.
I appreciated it!

What was this station? Can anyone fill me in? There's no wiki and the remains of their website lookike a hobby operation. Was it licensed?

Thanks in advance for any replies

The station I think, was only on the Internet, with studios in Kirkcaldy. They played all types of music, and had numerous presenters, including Steve Jones, Alan Kidd, and Tony Meehan (ex-Offshore Radio Scotland) and other former 242 DJ's. On air since 2003, and prior to that.

More info on their About tab on their Facebook page.
