Me and my family currently renting a place while my house is being renovated, we've been living there for 4 months so far and we just
Clocked on someone's intentionally damaging our cars, the drive way can only park one car so 3 cars have been parked on the road.

We've made sure not to block anyone so I don't see why anyone would want to target us.

Damage has included 4 tyres needing to be replaced two in each car, the same thing nails in the tyre

One car has been hit in the front driver side fender and mine has been hit in the rear passenger fender, the tyres alone have cost us £200.

What can we do, we still have to live in the house for the next few months

We know it's one of the neighbours As my mum heard one of neighbours during the night say, they've just moved in and have got four cars, she couldn't hear the rest,

Also one of the cars they snapped the plastic off on the side mirror

Are these real cars or Dinky, Hot Wheels, or Lego?

Can I just ask why you thought posting on an entertainment based internet forum about this rather than going to police was the best course of action?

Especially when you have such cast iron evidence as having heard a neighbour say you have four cars.

We are currently putting cctv up, I know the police won't do anything unless they have proof

I don't see what's hard to understand, there's four adults in the house so therefore four cars, I'm asking for genuine advice not to be taken the mic out of

If it were me I'd draft a very polite letter along the lines of .
My name is XXXX, and my family have moved into number XX while our home is being renovated . We understand that 4 cars in one household might appear over the top , but they are needed and we will try our very best to not cause parking issues for the short time we are here. Please bear in mind that we will only be here for a limited time , but if anyone has a problem with the cars or parking please do feel free to approach us and we will sort it out amicably I can assure you . Thank you .
Make enough copies to post through all your neighbours doors and do that .
The thing is , they might be getting ratty because they are thinking that you are moving in mob handed permanently and taking over the street . Perhaps assuring them that it's a short term let will nip the problems in the bud .

Buy more cars. Successful adults should own at least two cars each. Then take over the whole road.

Are you Jon Snow? Because it appears that you actually know nothing. You've already stated that you do have proof, your cars have been vandalised and/or crashed into leaving them damaged and leaving the scene of an accident is a police matter.

But hey, that wouldn't fit in well with the drip-fed trollery would it?

Jon snow? I don't follow.

Police won't investigate it unless there is cctv (proof) you would know this if you have ever dealt with the police. I give up, no one please reply to this thread, everyone thinking it's a joke I hope the same doesn't happen to them

TBH, that's a good idea and we should have done this from the start. I think it's a bit late for the letter seeing as they've already resorted to damaging people's property

I think the government should bring in a new tax for households with more than one car that don't have room to park them on their own land.

8. To force to go through or penetrate: drove the stake into the ground.
9. To create or produce by penetrating forcibly: The nail drove a hole in the tire [sic].

Maybe they feel nothing will happen. Plenty of complaints in GD about the police not being interested in minor crime.
Maybe someone else has experience and can relate this to the OP.
What subjects do you consider suitable for Advice?

Tbh we hate people like youb who think parking loads of cars on the road is ok. MY neigbhour parks 3 to 4 cars and it's not fair as we have no space to park outside out own home

Exactly, since when has that been a word we use in the UK ?

How would one drive a nail into a car tyre?
You wedge the nail between the tyre and the road and then when the car moves off it pushes the nail into the tyre. (Apparently).

{Although, if he's got fenders then he ought to have tires.}

Since the best advice you would have been likely to receive was "put up cctv" you've basically answered your own question.

Always surprises me when people have multiple cars they can't see how that annoys other people. We have a communal car park, when one of the flats here has five cars it causes people who like me work late to have have to park down the road because our parking spaces are taken up by this one family.

As I trudge up the road after three hours cleaning in the dark cold or rain I can't say my first thought as I see those five cars is entirely charitable. Wouldn't touch them obviously but I can understand why some people might.

It not viable to share cars. My main residence has enough space for the cars, We couldn't find anywhere temporary which had enough parking spaces to rent for just 6months. As stated we haven't blocked anyone and we have always parked very close to each other so others have enough space if needed, it's a sub urban area and only two other cars park on the road everyone else parks on their driveway so there's more then enough space. It simply a neighbour who just doesn't like us for moving into his area. The best advice I got was cctv which is what I'm doing. Thanks to all that helped

You might be surprised - the police might be interested. A few years ago now we went through a spate of finding nails in our tires. I honestly thought we were just being really, really unlucky - it had cost us hundreds of pounds in repairs. Sometimes they could fix it, sometimes it was a whole new tire.

Talking to a friend of mine one day she was like 'Ok - that's not right, you need to call the police'. Still not seeing it but, taking her advice I called our local station (I did say it was a few years ago!) and spoke to a guy there and he agreed with my friend, it was definitely suspicious. They took it really seriously. They ended up having an idea of who it might have been (it was nothing to do with us directly, we were just caught in the cross-fire, can't explain as it's complicated). They didn't push things, which we agreed with but, did frighten the suspect and guess what..? It magically stopped and to this day I've never had a nail in my tire since.

It might be worth ringing 101 and reporting any damage done - you may need a record going forward anyway if the problem persists.

CCTV sounds like the way to go. Also, as someone else suggested, it might be helpful to write notes to your neighbours explaining your situation.

According to this post, it does seem like you're not causing any problems for anyone, it's just someone being territorial to the new guys.

I know about territorial neighbours, as when we moved in just over 2 years ago, I was told by my next door neighbour not to park in any of the 3 spaces opposite our bungalow, as he and 2 other neighbours had been living there for so many years, and because of that length of time they are entitled to those spaces. I had to for the sake of getting along, agree. Luckily though, one of my neighbours who hasn't a car has let me park on her driveway.

Thankfully you won't be living there for too long.

We can get both our cars on the drive. The neighbours don't like us doing that though, as it means we have to leave the motorhome and some of the motorbikes on the street.

Seriously though, I think your proposal would be a bit unfair on households with adult children at home, where each family member might need a car of their own to get to work/college. Not everyone works in a location served by public transport, or works at hours when public transport is running.
