Just embrace it Remainers. We know Brexiteers are dictators. They aren't interested in any point of view which contradicts their extremist views. They have forgotten that we live in a representative democracy whereby the views of minorities are listened to and respected and adopted (partly) into policy. The fact that we are robustly challenging this Brexit nonsense is democracy in action. Are us Remainers going anywhere? No we are not.

well unless you're planning to emigrate from the UK, you're headed out of the EU with the rest of us

I am going no-where. This is as much my country as it is yours. We need to maintain a close relationship with the EU regardless of what Brexiteers want for the benefit of all. You didn't vote to become poorer did you? Make your job more insecure?

I just roll my eyes.
It speaks volumes about those who use it.

I expect if they lost the second one they would want us to keep voting - it's the EU way.
I very much doubt it. I'm sure that two referendums would be enough for anyone.

One is enough for most people; only EU supporters want more.

well given that we never voted to join the EU either, I fail to understand the logic of your argument.....

I have lost jobs thanks to EU membership - I was made redundant when a company I worked for moved their operations across to Poland, because it was cheaper to employ staff there.

I have seen friends and family members lose their own jobs, what you might consider "secure" jobs, as part of a redundancy process designed purely to lay off "expensive" UK-born workers in favour of cheaper, European labour who were happy to work for the minimum wage. A friend who worked in the HR department stated that the company predicted their annual wage bill would drop by at up to a quarter over 5 years, by revolving staff in/out on short-term contracts, and re-hiring at the minimum wage to keep payments low.

Did any of those people willingly vote to enter into such a farcical situation?

You don't think the leavers would have been demanding more had they lost?

I am actually pleased in some ways that it was a leave vote, because it shuts you lot up. Once the dust settles we can get on with pointing the finger at what is actually holding this country back, rather than blaming the boogeyman in Brussels for anything and everything.

Both sides use terms about the other side which are less than flattering including many on here.

I absolutely agree - the Government of this country (of all shades) has got away with things for far to long, by being able to pass the buck along. Now they can't - they'll have to actually take responsibility.

If we had lost, I'm sure UKIP would have benefitted. If they'd been elected on a Leave manifesto, we'd be out. Of course, that would have taken years, if it ever happened.

I don't think I can recollect a conciliatory post by your good self but I may be wrong. As they say it works both ways!

It a pattern in the EU, though, isn't it? Have a referendum, then if the result doesn't please he Eurocrats, tinker with he wording and have another.

Is it a pattern, or just a myth? It's not the EU that is trying to get us to have another referendum.

Quite the opposite. They seem impatient for us to trigger A50.

Uhuh. So here we've had quite a few people saying they'll ignore the views of anyone who calls them something they might find offensive.

Instead, the majority that voted leave is expected to be dictated to by a bunch of sore losers.. Many of whom don't seem able to offer any point of view other than 'its not fair!'.

There are remainers - the majority of people who voted remain and accept the democratic result.

And there are those who don't accept the democratic result and are seeking to overturn it, delay its implementation using the courts or Lords if necessary and want a second referendum and a third until they get the result they want. These are remoaners.

Remoaners is quite a polite term for the latter!

I , like nearly all remainers, accept the democratic result and that brexit will happen. I do not think there should be a 2nd ref or brexit should be stopped. However that doesn't stop me thinking its a terrible idea, that at the very least should be subject to parliamentary scrutiny and managed in a way to damage the country as little as is possible. I am not afraid to let people know my views on this.

If that makes me a "remoaner" then so be it

So unnecessary even a few Tory MP's use it.

I have accepted the result like most Remain supporters and want a deal to unite the country. Nothing wrong in questioning the actions of the government and having open debates and votes in parliament.

I don't want a 2nd referendum or MP's to try and stop the exit from the EU happening. However I still want the UK to be part of a partnership with the EU which benefits both parties.
Nicely put.

Oh yes, I note one of two who haven't been shy in branding the other side racists or xenophobes getting all upset because they've been labelled moaners. I know which I'd prefer to be called and a a remainer, I know the term isn't intended for people like me, just a small number of posters and I think we all know who they are.

Yes, because it's not derogatory. If the term 'Brexshitter' were employed with the same level of gay abandon that 'Remoaner' is, you might think it a bit juvenile.
Moan is not a derogotary term, It's quite an acceptable noun. People moan when they are in pain or through pleasure and people moan when they don't get their own way. The latter applies to those who didn't get their own way in the referendum and now spend all day on here telling everyone about it.

But we're not discussing the term 'moan'. We're discussing the term 'Remoaner' which is derogatory, as is 'a moaning Minnie'.

If you don't want to be called a moaner, as in remainer or Minnie, don't be one.

If that's the worse thing you've ever been called, you've led a sheltered life; think yourself lucky.
