Compared to some of the venom spat at exit voters following the result, remoaner is tame. I agree that it's tiresome now though.

It'll probably make it into OED eventually.”

Agreed.

If you want to ignore us, stop moaning.

When the remain camp creates expressions like Hard Brexit and Soft Brexit, which makes any form of withdrawal from the EU sound awful, why shouldn't we create words such as Remainiacs, Remoaners and Brexiteers?

i think it shows wonderful wit and intelligence.
I have to clutch my sides with mirth every time I see it.
Pure comedic gold.

It occurs that this is another thing the government didn't think about. Remain is one of those words which has so many more twisting possibilities than, say, Stay. And Remains also means rotting bits of dead things. Surely they would rather have been Stayers?

It's not very nice I suppose, but then it's hard to have sympathy when leavers have been called everything up to and including nazis on here.

Especially given their performance having taken over the armed forces recruiting. Many people who've been TUPE'd across to Capita, or just had to deal with their 'services' will probably shed few tears.

Like SJW, wear the title loud and proud. Despite what DigitalSpy pricks might tell you, it really is as simple as the difference between good and evil.

But they are exercising their right to say that. It might be idiotic but in reality, most people are oblivious when it comes to politics. That doesn't make them stupid, it makes them human. You are picking on these people in the same way that they are picking on others.

Excellent... but it's more like teenagers ostentatiously showing off love bites. Go for it Remoaners!

The Cameron description of Leavers makes all of the Remain jibes look like terms of endearment.

Self Harmers.

At some point, the Remnants may work out that constant moaning without providing anything constructive is why they're attracting lables. And losers don't get to dictate terms.

But self-abusers may be apt, ie it's not about what the majority wants, it's all about what they want.

The term remoaner is meaningless seeing it gets thrown about over all sorts of ridiculous things. Lately it seems to refer to people who respect British law and British parliamentary power, something that brexiters chucking this term around were apparently big fans of up until a few weeks ago.

If people don't want to be called a 'remoaner' then its simple... stop yer moaning, accept the result and get on board with us leaving the EU.

We are not standing for some some half way house (Norway model) either, which wasn't the choice on the ballot paper. So stop banging on about this too.

Blaming the audience for the behaviour of the name-callers isn't a sensible stance. Certainly doesn't happen that way at school or in the workplace. The failure lies 100% with those dishing out the playground insults.

As I've nearly worn out my "Don't blame me - I didn't vote Brexit" teeshirt, I'm having another one done: "Remoaner - and proud of it".

Not at all. There is much doom & gloom coming from the Remnants, and the likes of Miller's lawsuit. So lots of people who don't seem to accept the result.

If ever a post summed up the stupidity of Brexiters, this is it. You voted Out - you sort it out. Why should I help you damage my own position? You really are a bunch of small-minded clowns.

PS: No, I will fight to the bitter end to stop this nonsense. For the moment, it is better to do little and watch the car crash unfold. We will be revoting in 2020 and hopefully, there will be no rigging of the franchise this time.

Well if Remainers didn't moan, no-one could accuse them of it, could they? At the start, fair enough but 6 months on? Move on.

If you mean in 1975, everyone accepted the result, there wasn't much choice, the majority voted to stay in. How times change. Over the years the Common Market was transformed into a monolithic political union and many people didn't like the fact that they were never given a say on whether it should have. Being 'sceptic' about something is perfectly valid if what was voted for originally by 20+ years later bore no relation to what was being created without any agreement by the people.
