The lad wasn't at his Dr's surgery though.
That's right. He was visiting Santa at a special time for chidren. He should not have been subjected to personal remarks. |

How to ruin a child's Christmas in one easy step.
I'll admit I've seen overweight children out with their families, and especially when the parents are overweight it does annoy me, but that's because I've struggled with my weight my entire life and I can't understand why someone would put their child through all that. However I would never say anything to them. You don't know what's going on in that families life and it's none of my business. This Santa had no right to say that. Despite what people think telling someone they're fat is unlikely to motivate them to lose weight, they already know they're overweight, something like that is more likely to make them want to comfort eat. |

Good on Santa for being honest. The kid is fat, i'm sorry there's no getting around it. I can't even understand what the mother is saying. The son isn't that much better ![]() At the end of the day, it was none of his business. It's not his job to comment on the appearance of the kids, or anybody who accompanies them - and to be frank, unprompted personally insulting remarks, seriously piss me off. So I can understand the Mother's reaction. |

Billy Bob Thornton could make a third film with this story.

He could have broached it in a tactful way... "and if you lay off the fries next year you might get a hoverboard". Everyones a winner.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And if that's hurtful then I point at all those oppressively fat-shaming exercise kit adverts and stoutist publications like those 'slim world' and 'ultra diet' magazines. So what's the worst part of this? The fact that a santa was rude to a kid or the fact that someone filmed it and then posted it on the internet? |

What is it with people these days? why is this offensive or even a headline? kids and people in general need to man up and yes I'm being serious. The santa bloke just said it how it is, just proof you can't say nowt these days. I found out that apparently the word 'fat' is offensive, so how do you describe someone then?. People these days are such pussies! any little thing makes anyone cry now, too over sensitive and kids are brought up to take offence.

I could call someone ugly, foureyes or baldy, but it's just pointlessly and insultingly rubbing in a fact they already know. |

If the boy had come out with some personal comment re Santa no doubt he'd be getting slated for being "a spoiled brat", no doubt the mother's parenting skills would be attacked etc etc...

Gentle ribbing to me or is this really offensive now? jeez.
I've also noticed that the kind of people who make such remarks, are the first to act all offended if they're replied to in kind. At the end of the day, we've all got various attributes we can't do much about, but would rather not have. It really doesn't need some sad bastard making sure, usually in front of a load of others, that we haven't forgotten. |

Lol I'm not like most people, only thing that pisses me off is racism and stuff that really is awful. Name calling however doesn't offend me, stuff like fatty or speccy or baldy would not offend me one bit. Maybe because I have a thick skin and know how to take it. It doesnt bother me, never has done.
