I thought the Wii was supposed to solve all these problems. Is it no longer wanted?

On the one hand, what 9yr old wants to go and see Santa. His mother has made the situation worse for him. Imagine the bullying when he goes to school because she ran to the press. What she should have done is quietly and discreetly told Santa to eff off and shut up and do his job, not upset the kids.

The mother was obviously offended enough to go and whinge about it to the papers and so are many like this in the world that we could do without. Its not news.
This santa should be named and shamed for people who have children and should have the choice to avoid him like the plague. Also for the pedant who asked what name he called the kid he didn't but he humiliated him |

................ A few comments above suggest he's 'done the kid a favour' - how exactly? Do you think he and his Mum have seen the light now that the man said what he said, that they will change his eating habits and he'll be forever thankful that Santa showed him the way?

He'd probably eat it. Joking aside... I think a lot of the problem with childhood obesity is the rise in computer tech and how many just stay indoors all the time and eat crap. The parents can see where they are and are safe, I guess in this day and age playing in the garden is a big risk what with pedos and child snatchers hiding in the bushes outside everyone's gates 24-7 and yes that is sarcasm. Everyone seems to be scared of everything! kids don't live any more, scraping your knees, falling over, falling out of trees, banging your head on things was part of being a kid a bit of rough and tumble and exploring seems dead these days. If I ever ave kids I'd make sure they would be out in the fresh air not sitting on their arses getting fat eating burgers.
As a kid I hated to go outside and "play" when I just wanted to sit inside and read a book. I hated getting dirty never climbed a tree even though we had one in out own back yard. Sometimes I was forced to go out and it's still something I hold against them. Never was over weight though in fact just the opposite spent a lot of time at doctors due to been very underweight. |

I agree with you re. the bit in bold. The automatic response shouldn't be to run to the press or social media. She should, as you say, have said something to the Santa.

And they may end up resenting you for that.

How dim is she? Attention seeking stupidity and without question it's her son who will suffer most. |

Humiliated? maybe if he was abused in some way verbally where he was sworn at in front of lots of people then yes but just a bit of advice and his mummy goes nuts. Outing the santa guy is also stupidly extreme and quite frankly laughable in my eyes

Give him some brandy butter
Dashing through the snow.. on a one...oh he's fallen off. He's enormous. Why would Santa want that on his lap Maybe he has a dodgy knee, ever think of that? |
