Voyager was a very tired show by the end. No surprise at it's poor showing in this poll.

Watching the odd episode and I see what a missed opportunity it was. I probably didn't notice when it first aired.

Poor Chakotay. Started off a major character, ended up as Lt Leslie.
It was a missed opportunity - to inject real character development and dramatic conflict into the crew of a Starfleet vessel. The concept was fine. The execution was lamentable. They chose to forego character and credible situations, going instead for scifi concept of the week. It made for some intriguing and entertaining individual episodes (and some really lame ones) but taken as a whole, a poor series. And, oh yes, the way they made the homecoming a non-event character-wise shows just how little that side of story telling mattered to them. Even Braga says the writers were exhausted by that point. A situation that continued into the beginnings of Enterprise.

I went with Enterprise, as would have loved to have seen the genesis of the Federation explored and how Archer helped to start the ball rolling.
yeah fully agree.
in the final 2 eps they kinda did a little bit but it was obviously rushed and very pigeon-holed. might have been nice to have seen it spaced out across a season.

Polling seems to be closed now but I agree that Enterprise deserved another season. I think DS9 was about right and TNG and Voy probably went on one season too long.

i want to stand up for TNG here.

personally I though TNG season 7 was better than both seasons 5 and 6. 3 and 4 were the peak. I think season 5 relies heavily on 'the inner light'. apart from that I can't think of many great eps in season 5.

the finale 'all good things' was (almost) perfection and theres quote a few other good eps in season 7 as well.

I actually think the answer should TECHNICALLY be enterprise but I don't get the hate for season 7 of TNG.
IT was far from the worse season.

You're being a bit dramatic with use of the word hate. It's just not some people's favourite season, second favourite or whatever, that doesn't mean it's hated.

Season 5 some great episodes in addition to The Inner Light; Redemption 2, Darmok, Disaster, Unification, Conundrum, The Next Phase, Cause & Effect, Power Play, The Outcast, The First Duty, Times Arrow, and it introduced Ensign Ro. Most of those episodes are well regarded. Overall it's a decent season. Then again, seasons 3-7 have a lot of decent episodes, and preferring one season over another doesn't mean the ones towards the lower end are hated.
