Just delete the partition, there is an option to do that when set up runs from the cd or flash drive.

In the box under name it says:

Disk 0 partition 1 111.8GB (total size) 111.8GB (free space) Primary

When I click the next button it says what I stated in the opening post .

When I double click on that drive a message appears saying Windows cannot be installed to disk 0 partition 1 and when I click on show details I get a box pop up saying
Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disks controller is enabled in the computers bios menu

Help

Do you see the option to delete the partition during setup?

Delete all partitions (including old Sys Reserved) and install to Unallocated space.

W7/8/8.1/10 then work out what they need to re-create.

Just to add to this, you'll need to click on 'Drive options (Advanced)' before the Delete option appears
