Will SkyQ ever give us a 3rd Multiroom Box?
I understand with Sky Q you can only have two mini`s at one time using the Sky Q system, but do people think they will ever expand this to 3?
Can you also watch recorded programmes on a third whilst the other two mini's are in use or is this a non runner? |

You can actually have 4 mini boxes with the Silver, but only use 2 simultaneously.

I know a family with multiple boxes and Sky Q wouldn't be enough for them, strange how Sky goes on about being able to record a 6th and watch a 7th, but is actually limited to 2 extra rooms only, should be more unlimited in that way too!
I think the Sky Q system is quite flawed and am happier with the Sky+ HD box system. I'm sure Sky are more than happy to take all those Multiscreen subscriptions. We've got a full house at Christmas and the five screens simultaneously with our Sky Q is enough for us. |

Is there really any need for extra minis? You can watch on main box, 2 minis and two other devices (amart phones, tablets and PCs) merely connect a tablet or laptop to TV.
I also believe that outputting from a tablet to a TV is disabled? |

I am wondering if sky will allow smart TVs to use an app to access the q box. Obviously it will have limited functionality

At the moment the app on tablets and phones has output to TV disabled so there may be issues with rights to such devices which makes it highly unlikely for a TV app. |

Say you've got two kids and a 3 bed semi so they've got a bedroom each. You've got the main box in the living room and one mini in your master bedroom. Which of your kids do you give the other box to? And that's before you get into three child families and people who insist on have a telly in the kitchen etc. Yes, this is very much a 'first world ' problem but Sky isn't cheap and I'm surprised they haven't offered at least 3 maybe 4 mini boxes as an option. |

I can see why some families might want a 3rd mini box, yes.

Clearly connectivity isn't an issue because with the 2 mini's you can connect 2 tablets at the same time aswell, so why not 2 more mini's? |

That caters for 7 simultaneous viewing spots. Hpw many kids do not have a games console, laptop, tablet or smart phone in Sky Q homes |

Its only 'limited' currently with the amount of boxes running at the same time, however, you can watch a mini in any room in the house, garage, shed that has a TV, just move the mini as required and plug it into the mains

Powerline likely wouldn't work if the garage has a separate mains distribution. Q boxes use 5ghz Wifi and the range is shorter than 2.4. It has to use 2.4 because of the size of the date being streamed to the mini box. The stream to the iPad/Tablets is smaller and will work over 2.4 as it uses less bandwidth.
