RIP !

One of the prog legends that wrote the soundtrack of my childhood, and a member of one of the finest live acts I`ve ever seen.

Sad Day, Sad Year !

Will always be associated with this time of year for me, it's not Christmas without hearing the wonderful I Believe In Father Christmas.

Sad news.

So now it is just, er, Palmer.

How sad, particularly at this time of year as he is associated with that song from my childhood.

RIP.

God, this year just keeps taking, doesn't it. I think I'm going to hibernate until 2017 now.

If I was Palmer I'd be worried that 2016 wants a matching set

Greg Lake has sadly followed in Kirsty MacColl's footsteps. Both have sung a classic Christmas song, and both have died just before Christmas.

As a fan of early King Crimson, I found I Believe In Father Christmas deeply embarrassing.

As we all should, it's like finding out Robert Fripp actually wrote Mistletoe and Wine

He's married to Toyah and that's punishment enuff.

You missed the 'died' bit in the title of this thread.

Not missing at all. Always used to be the online convention that a thread title of just someone's name indicated they had died. Latter day lack of observance of this convention can cause unnecessary unpleasant shock to us long time users.

Can't see why, it's one of the better Christmas songs. You should, however, be very embarrassed by The Land of Make Believe, co-written by no less than Pete Sinfield for Bucks Fizz.

A sad loss to music and entertainment.
