I'm so confused .. if there's anymore throw them in as I'm a strictly newbie:

Body Isolation
Compact
Content
From the heel
Top line

Also, just in general, how do viewers votes count exactly. If for instance they score 36 with 4 points how does the viewer count match that. Actually I think its clicked as I type this; its the positioning that matters. So if people voted for Danny the most he would get 6 which oc adds to the judges 4 or whatever it maybe.

It depends on how many are left in the show. At the beginning with fifteen couples the top one got 15 points and the bottom should have got 1 except where there is a tie in the list.

The public vote gives 15 to their top one and so on.

Don't get hung up on points total from the 4 judges. All that matters is leaderboard position. Judges scores can equal ties but the odds of the public vote doing the same are very remote.

As for the comments. Worth watching Ian's bit on It Takes Two for details.

Oh, I thought it was going to be a 'what the judges say and what they really mean' thread.
Like - you look lovely means you can't dance for toffee

A lot of what the judges speak is nonsense in terms of latin and ballroom... but as far as I know

content = dance content. In other words not faffing about throwing popcorn at each other or riding bikes round the studio. Doing proper syllabus or known variation latin and ballroom steps during the routine.
compact = small movements
heel leads = stepping forward onto a heel rather than a toe or a flat foot.
top line = the line created by the head, neck, shoulders and back when in the ballroom hold.
body isolation = i guess moving one part of your body in isolation to the rest your body? I've not personally been taught to do this in latin and ballroom. To me this term would be more true of hip hip or maybe belly dancing. I guess it must be a ballet term too since Darcey uses it so much.

If you're used to playing the drums, it's a fair bet you'll be good at isolations - Harry Judd and Jay McGuiness being two who are.

I think in the last few series, dancing terms have been largely supplanted in favour of ridiculous analogies since the judges decided that they, not the celebrities, are the stars of the show. I think poor Jeremy Vine was quite stung by being described as a 'stork struck by lightning'. Not exactly a technical term. And Craig's just plain rude, which I suspect he confuses with being clever.
