Very sad news for me. ELP were a fine prog rock band and "I believe in Father Christmas" one of my all time faves.

A very sad year for music overall

RIP Greg

Each time one of them dies it’s like a little piece of me dies with them.

I saw ELP many many moons ago;…Greg was a superb musician and vocalist,… and the perfect counterbalance to Keith Emerson’s maniacal onstage exuberance.

They were unique and brilliant;

…think I might listen to ‘Trilogy’ this afternoon.

And if Richard Hammond attends he should wear an anti-stab vest.

It's an anti Christmas song. mocking the lies and hypocrisy of it, always made me smile when people thought it was the same as that Slade dirge, or jingle bells.

Wasn't he in King Crimson as well? My Dad was (is still) a huge fan of them.

2016 strikes again - still, only 23 more days to go.

Yes he played Bass and sang on KC's first album. He also did some work on the 2nd album but left before it was finished.

Kinda miss the timpani but it's very lovely. St Brides looks wonderful too. Bigger.

The number of times I heard "In the wake of Poseidon" when I was growing up......

What was the other one? - 21st century schizoid man.
