Hope this is the right place to ask. I have a hifi with Bluetooth, a Panasonic AKX-400 and a relatively new Acer laptop, As I mix music a lot I considered running iTunes on the laptop and if paired with the hifi it ought to be played through its speakers via the Bluetooth connection.

But the laptop is not finding the hifi to pair despite having checked that the box is ticked allowing the laptop to be visible to other Bluetooth devices.

Panasonic have an app (MAX Juke APK for Laptop) which I am attempting to download to see if that helps although probably the next thing I will see is that Windows can't open the APK extension! Although it says the app can be for a laptop I expect it is really only suited to mobile devices.

Anyway it's been ten minutes now so presumably I won't be able to pair these two - anyone with any bright ideas please?

Have you made the Panasonic visible to other Bluetooth devices? It doesn't matter that the laptop is visible as you are not trying to pair it with itself! But the Panasonic must be visible to the laptop.

Also can the laptop use Bluetooth to play audio? For example can you pair it with Bluetooth speakers or a headset? If not then it might not pair to the Panasonic system.

Hi, I hadn't thought of that, I am not sure so will check the Panasonic manual on that one.

There is an Windows app to open the Panasonic .apk app that downloaded eventually.

For the present I am listening to mixes having added them to my iPod Nano which syncs with the hifi fantastically well.

I don't think these devices are ever tested with more than one BT pair in operation. You may need to pair it after resetting it so it forgets the iPod.

I hate the technology. It should be simple but it is simple like voodoo.
