Now as I said I think that he was being sarcastic and 'shading' Game of Thrones He could have been a little less clumsy in his phrasing but then again I always think of Craig as being not quite as clever and funny as he clearly thinks he is.

There is no scale of horror, rape car crashes, murder are all horrific and devastate lives.

I am offended that you don't think a car crash cannot be as bad as a rape. It's often caused by power mad individuals, just like rape, the victims are often powerless just like rape.

I think in the context of the rest of his comment it was clearly meant to be OTT sarcasm. Saying something along the lines of "it wasn't the weird and gratuitous sex and violence that turned me off GOT, they were all fine, but dragons are a step too far" isn't poking fun at rape victims or anyone who has been cleaved in the head, he's not seriously saying he enjoyed the rape scene. He's also taking the pi$$ out of himself as much as the show in an attempted edgy/subversive way - haha, a normal person might be put off by rape and murder but I'm such a weirdo that all that's fine but don't expect me to accept dragons. It's inviting you to laugh at him and GOT, not rape.

Maybe if it portrays rape and violence for entertainment of others - it should be the one that's banned*. I have only ever watched 5 minutes of it and very quickly realised it wasn't for me, but then neither is 8 out of 10 cats
* I'm not saying it should be banned, btw, but if comments about the programme are enough to get people outraged then why not the programme itself?

If one person who runs a charity against sexual abuse having an itchy trigger finger over comments relating to sexual abuse, probably goaded on by The Daily Mail looking for something to throw at the BBC and PC GORN MAD at the same time, is the very lowest that "PC Culture" can sink then I think we're fine.

Of course he was. He was either being sarcastic or very flippant. The violence, torture and sex is why the series is so popular, he was just highlighting the fact. But that seemed to go right over the head of Aisling, who is usually more intelligent than that.
Those who are so offended should be asking a more serious question, why is there such an appetite for this kind of stuff ? Are people so thick that they believe Craig is sitting at home drooling over scenes of rape and ultra-violence.

I think watching a child dance on a vid clip and then declaring 'I just want to cut off his hair and hands and feet - and squeeze him - and put him in a bag and kick it .' on a tea time family show much worse than making adult sarcastic remarks in a late night show .
