Film stars go to great lengths to appear youthful, you can't really compare them to normal blokes.

film stars are different of course but I think any kind of stigma with male baldness (old, decrepit etc) has gone
So no wigs or comb overs now, first sign of baldness, whip the lot off
unless you're rich or vain or a cricket star

Charlton Heston and Bing Crosby both appeared to have a full head of hair
As more of mine went I just had a No 1 cut all over my head, easy to maintain. Probably what many other men have done

Wigs and comb overs have ceased to be aesthetic perhaps?

I must admit to having something of a comb-over myself;

…this is my passport photo;…I think it looks aesthetically pleasing,…in the right light.
