During my slow but sure scouring of the Straight Dope archives (don't ask...) I came across this gem of a thread.

http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/...d.php?t=160851

It was all over the internet in it's heyday (2003) but I've only just stumbled upon it now.

I dare you to read it and not wet yourself laughing

'The Horror of Blimps'

...and there was me thinking this thread was going to be about this blimp here http://www.independent.co.uk/life-st...-a7207291.html and whether it looks more like Thunderbird 2 or butt cheeks.

I thought this thread was about old British generals who write angry letters to the "Daily Telegraph"....

OMG that is hilarious to read
...particularly, "One must always be on guard against things that go blimp in the night".

It actually read like one of those bizarre LSD/ketamine trips!
