Emmerdale: Is Ross dead or something?
He's had barely 2 scenes since James' death. I'm not a super fan of the character or anything but it's very noticeable that he's practically ceased to exist compared to his brothers who are now at the forefront. I know it's probably to do with Mike's Everest trip but they'd have been better doing a temporary exit storyline, as it just feels weird that he's so rarely mentioned all of a sudden.

I think the episodes that are airing now were filmed when Mike was climbing Everest.
Spoiler
Out of three brothers I was looking forward to how he would cope with Jame's death the most. He initially wound everyone up and was looking to fight with Adam, but beyond that, they haven't shown much. |

The fabulous Ross should be back later in the month.

Supposedly went to London on a business trip, it's no secret that I dislike the character so I'm glad of the break

Its hardly been a break, he's basically exited the show for a full year (minus a few scenes now and then).

To be honest quite disappointed with the aftermath of James' death. Thought this would have opened up a bigger story for the Barton boys but so far nothing.

I'm also really disappointed in Finn's story. I was a happy about him getting a major storyline but I find him quite irritating in this one. |

That is true. He's not my favourite character but I find him intriguing. The only scenes he ever really gets now are ones where he is arguing with Charity over Moses. Also why are the writers so against Charity having some scenes with the kid for once?

Hopefully the storyline will be revisited at some point soon, either going down the route of Ashley remembering more of what he saw, or Emma eventually reaching breaking point and confessing all, possibly triggering another follow-on storyline (loving Gillian playing the role of Emma though). |

Me too - the inquest was over in five minutes and people seem to be moving on, as they always do in Soapland.

The lack of grieving is really annoying me. Pete was probably the closest to his Dad but he seems to be on cloud 9 at the moment just because he's sleeping with Leyla. I've never seen him so happy. So stupid!

I figured they're just waiting until Debola gets back to give him any airtime. Even if he flirts with Rebecca it's obvious it'll be over as soon as he lays eyes on misery guts Debbie and he'll go back to running around after her.
I just hope he and Pete stay friendly as I can't watch them go round two over her. |

People handle grief in different ways. Just because Pete isn't constantly miserable doesn't mean he isn't grieving. He could just be hiding it.

Hopefully not, Ross has slept with her mum numerous times since she left, I think he's pretty much over her. I still don't think that Ross ever really loved her, he just loved getting one over on Pete and being the family man for once.

I'd like to think that as I don't see them as a good couple at all but the Emmerdale producers seem to think she's irresistable. She actually makes him boring.

![]() ![]() Especially seeing as he is one of the best characters to have joined the show in recent years. McLeod had better not drag him down again by hooking him up with Dreadful Dour Debbie, once more. |

Ross is definitely the most interesting out of the three brothers, I think the big storyline for him will be when he finds out that Emma did it. Emma will probably try to run away with Moses.
