Just recieved a phone call
I have just recieved some call from someone claiming they can offer me a better mobile monthly line rental deal that will safe me money. It was not o2 (my network), is there anyway I can find out how they got my number? I have been on to o2 and they have said they would NEVER give out customer mobile numbers.
when the guy was on the phone he was not accepting that i didnt want to listen to him and i eventually had to hang up as he kept on persisting. the number that called me though was a mobile number, i am thinking of calling it back to see if i get an answer and trying to find out the companies name & address etc. |

To stop receiving calls like this register with the TPS. It stops all marketing calls , or should do. If you then continue to receive them then you can report them and they face getting a fine.

They will just take a batch of known o2 contract phone numbers and and cold call them - there's nothing you can do really.

Also don't forget that with most modern office phone systems you can "spoof" the CLI number and make it appear as anything you like. For instance if I felt so inclined I could go into the programming of the phone system here and change the identity of the phone sat next to me to be anything from the Chairman down to the lowest office junior! Certainly making it appear as if I'd called from my mobile is no problem at all |

I just this minute received one. The lady had a foreign voice. Just told her no thanks and hung up. I am registered with TPS but I believe calls from outside the UK aren't covered.
