We will never know. I personally believe that the Allies would have won without the USA. But as I said, it would have been a longer and harder war.

Self, Mensch and Farage did agree with each other on some points though. I haven't seen that before.

That's not how I saw it. It was pretty tame tonight. No sparklers, although Farage fizzled out like a damp firework in places.

Why do we have NIck Cleggs wife on This week telling us how wonderful the EU is? Isn't one Clegg enough?

I expect they are both looking forward to spending Nick's generous EU pension when they retire!

Many throughout the Commonwealth stood by us during the wars; many giving their lives for it too.

You have a problem maintaining the dialectic don't you?
Go back and try and work out the fact I mentioned in my reply to your previous post to me.
There's a good fellow, run along now.

The contempt you have for Britain leaps off the screen. Why do you stay here if you hate everything Britain stands for? It's not because you wouldn't have such a good standard of living somewhere else is it?

He mentioned the EU, Ukraine and Putin twice tonight and explained why we should stay on friendly terms with Putin.

Indeed. But I think the poster was just using language based on accusations from posters regarding British citizens.

So us knuckle dragging brexiters vote the right way in the next referendum. Or else we would have to have a 3rd referendum

He mentioned the desirability of talking to Putin to avoid any unpleasant consequences of what he (Putin) may be planning or what the EU have been doing close to Russia's borders, about which Putin is understandably a little twitchy.
This apparently means, to some people, that despite him saying specifically otherwise, that he wants to be 'friends'.

The Russians: always airbrushed out of American military history. Millions lost their lives. And, of course, it was the Russians who liberated Berlin (whilst the USA was off on their Operation Paperclip chase). We couldn't have won without Russia; and, IMHO, they should be remembered by us with pride for their sacrifices.
