I was offered two at a time under sedation, but I just couldn't face it - and I am very glad I chose the route I did! The thought of knowing anything of what had gone on, would be enough to put me off going back for the second lot!

I have to be honest that solids aren't really appealing to me at the moment! I'm having to eat everything with a teaspoon, as I can't get my mouth wide enough for a fork!

Although the general made me feel rough, there is no way I could've gone through with sedation to have them done....even the thought...arrrrrgh!

For the record when I had mine done (around five years ago) I found it all rather fascinating - blood and guts do not bother me at all and physical pain not that much either.

I had local - I feel if if I ever go under I will snuff it - irrational of course but I have never been under anaesthetic since an operation on my perforated left eardrum as a toddler - no matter what the procedure (endoscopies etc).

The first took an hour to remove because it was at such an odd angle - the bloke in hospital was digging about like a bloody archaeologist - but it was very interesting to see all the blood and bone fragments go through the clear tube right in front of my eyes!

The second was easy.

By far the worst thing was the ulcers afterwards (where the dentist had to stretch my mouth to get to the first awkward tooth).

They took ages to clear up.

Poor Safs!
I had mine taken out just under local - was ok. They're shallow rooted and not as painful as a molar extraction apparently.

Afterwards mine healed beautifully - the mouth is very quick to heal.
I ate lukewarm mashed potato, scrambled eggs, and rice pudding for a few days afterwards.

Don't worry Welsh Lad, she's on the mend.

I'm sure once Saturday night arrives, I'm sure she will be able to force a Chicken Shish with chilli sauce, extra cabbage and large fries down...

At this stage, it's probably best to stick it all in the blender though.

It's not too bad now, I made it worse by catching a heavy cold about a week after the OP, coughing & sneezing was no fun I can tell you. It strains the stitches.

Thanks WL! But I draw the line at rice pudding! I even tried porridge...never again!

I'm missing the most fun week of the year at work, sob wail! But it has given me the chance to catch up on the goings on in Ambridge!

There is no way I'd be able to manage...I'm having to eat everything from a teaspoon! OUCH!!!! It'll be a while before I can enjoy the simple pleasure of a Hayes Kebab once again!
