If the vote happened today it would have 52 - 48 for remain. https://www.indy100.com/article/brex...result-7463341 Also of note: "The British Election Study found that 6 per cent of Leave voters regretted their vote, compared to 1 per cent of Remain voters." |

Certainly not UKIP or the Tories if the whole thing goes down the pan.
I want the same thing you do (so-called hard Brexit), but for different reasons. I want to give the Leavers enough fuel to slam themselves into the wall. At which point the backlash will be very hard indeed. Explain to me how that will be good for the country. |

LOL. Bremainers are a joke that just keeps on giving amusement even when it is in poor taste.
Let me spell it out Not all who voted Brexit think the same Not all who voted Remain think the same We are allowed as far as I am aware to have different thoughts The tone of debate would be better if people attacked the ball (i.e. the issues) rather than anyone who just happens to disagree with them most of whom are just getting on with their lives and have little time for the hyperbole and mud slinging from both sides This is NOT a game. The result of the referendum and the negotiations will affect us all for years to come and we will probably not know for better or worse for several years yet and even then we will not know what would have happened with an alternative outcome Wise People acknowledge that they do not have perfect knowledge especially of the future |

There is no doubt support for brexit is dying every minute of every day. The young and healthy didn't want brexit, and they should not have to suffer the consequences when those who supported it are already dying off.

There's a quote oft used by politicians and statesmen going back centuries that goes something like: If you're not a liberal [for which read left leaning] when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the time you're 35, you have no brain.
(The ages and political parties change according to the time it was said in. I believe the above is attributed to Churchill, although there's no evidence he actually said it.) ![]() Quote:
So the logical result of your plans is that you want to entrust the future of the country to Corbyn?
Explain to me how that will be good for the country. I know they are very much the minority among remainers, but they have a lack of humanity that I find chilling. To consider the deaths of people merely in terms of a vote lost or gained rather than in terms of the loss of parents, grandparents and friends is surely slightly sociopathic? |

The more the losers whinge and squeel about us leaving and vent their spleen on anyone and everyone who voted leave the more I like it.
It shows it really has got to them and the best of it is there is fcuk all they can do about it. ![]() |

No, because Leavers tend to be older than Remainers. I think that was the point of the thread.

Who knows in time the younger ones who voted to remain may well get older and wiser and realise their mistake.

I voted remain. I was and continue to be di9sappointed by the result and have many concerns about how it will turn out. I will certainly not be silenced from expressing these as we move forward However, the time for arguing on the terms and about the validity of the referendum has long passed and we need to find ways to draw together rather than continue with the damaging tribalism and that involves listening and learning to respect alternative views from both sides |

I do find it a little disturbing that people are continuing to come out with things like this - as though there's some kind of great insightful point being made, is this 'do it again we might win this time' or 'old people should not vote' or 'ha ha serves them right they deserve to be dead'?
Maybe a list of people with those attitudes needs to be compiled by HMRC and the Probate Registry to ensure they don't get to inherit anything, ever, have to wear an 'if you are over 60 I think you should be dead' sandwich board and to ensure they are banned from voting once they themselves reach 60. And don't get free TV licences or bus passes. |

How about searching this board and posting the polls which show that 75 - 80% of people want Brexit to be progressed?
