Chromecast anomaly ?
I was casting youtube from my laptop and noticed my phone said it was casting too....
somewhat puzzled I turned off the casting feature from the phone and the video disappeared from the TV, I tried casting again from the laptop, yet again the casting app started on the phone and the video was casting from the phone ![]() It was only after turning wifi off on the phone that I was able to cast from the laptop. while this isnt really a big deal It just seems very weird and wondered if anyone else has experienced this or knows why it does this...? |

its a 'feature' (that can be disabled per device) where devices on the same network can control the casting (pause/stop/etc). its not actually your phone doing the casting, its just a notification with controls that is showing up on it. remember your laptop doesnt actually 'do' the casting, all it really does is tell the chromecast to play a specific stream from a specific location (nothing is sent from your laptop to the chromecast other than 'commands') |
