I have a Panasonic Viera ET60 model (TX-L55ET60B) purchased new in 2012. For over a week now BBC iplayer is no longer working, I can load the app, search and select a program, but almost immediately the app exits to live TV. Sometimes it does this when trying to search. At most I only get a few seconds of the program before it exits.

It has been working fine over the last 2-3 years. My internet connection is 37 mb and I've tried both wireless and wired and get the problem with both. ISP is BT with a Home Hub 5. Firmware level on the TV is the latest.

Any ideas?

I sincerely hope you are getting more than 37 millibits (0.037 bits) per second. That would be slower than a slow thing with terminal arthritis

Anyway. The beeb have a list of TVs and other device certified to work with iPlayer and I can't see that model listed

http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/tv/panasonic

Might not mean it is completely unsupported but does make you wonder if something has changed? There is also this

http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.u...iew/v2_closure

But again can't see that model listed.

There is this as well

http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.u...ed_tvs_dec2016

but that only mentions LG and Samsung.

Might be worth contacting either Panasonic or the Beeb to see if they have done anything to break iPlayer.

Not aware of any reason it wouldn't work, the et5/50 modes that pre-dated it work ok as do the year after. I'm fairly sure that this is just an omission more than anything else.

Thanks for help guys. I've raised a case both with Panasonic and BBC so we'll see what they come back with.

Very likely. Or Panasonic didn't submit any ET60 models for testing for whatever reason.

Hunting round here to see if I have an old 60 series to try!

Got this reply from Panasonic yesterday. I suppose it depends on whether the problem is with their servers or the ET60 firmware ....

"Regarding your query about the iPlayer app, we are currently having some issues on our E6 and E60 TV's. Our team is currently investigating this issue, and once we find out what is wrong, the issue will be sorted out. I kindly require your patience in the matter as we are doing everything we can to solve this. Unfortunately we do not know precisely when the issue is going to be fixed but it should not take a long time."
