Hope I have the right forum - I have a question about regional BBC TV news magazine programmes: is it usual that they are only available on iPlayer for about 24 hours for some reason, or is the fact that I cannot now access South Today from 6/12/16 three days later likely due to some kind of fault? I believe it was available the following day.
Thanks

Oh. That's a shame. Do you happen to know why?

Thanks for the reply.

Just because the news is quickly out of date, i think.

Occasionally reports are put on each regions Facebook page, so there is a slight chance the report you want may be on there.

I did indeed locate the individual report on Facebook, so thank you for that tip.

Bit of a faff though, and don't see why I should be forced to go there to view Beeb content, really.

My opinion is that a longer time on the iPlayer, where videos are easier to find, and which is not a platform controlled by a third party, would be preferable as there are various items in these types of largely magazine programmes that people may well want to catch up with or watch again or refer back to, and which aren't massively time specfic.

Or perhaps the iPlayer needs to be able to stream individual, non-time-crucial reports in the way Facebook can - assuming it can't already, given current fragmented 'on demand' TV viewing habits.

Guess it's priority vs budget.

They used to make the lunchtime bulletin available as a realplayer feed but these days it's only the 6.30 on iplayer and only for 24 hours as previously stated.

.
It may also be for legal reasons which like Crimewatch will often feature news about criminal cases that may have moved on since broadcast.
