Eastenders: Beppe di Marco (Michael Greco)
cobwebsoup
09-12-2016
"Michael Greco would consider returning to the show.

The actor played Beppe di Marco for four years between 1998 and 2002, but has said he would never shut the door on the soap.

"I'd never shut that door. If the offer was there, you'd have to consider it", Michael said to The Sun."

Would any of you like a Beppe return? Or not?

I used to fancy him. He still looks pretty damn fine!

I am not 100% sure why he would return, though... who did he get with on the Square? I am guessing that work has dried up?

There is not, was not and never will be a Beppe (the philosopher, Russell Brand)

He gets better with age. Yummy. I would not be adverse to him coming back.

Beppe's strange obsession with Lynne Slater always puzzled me.

But not as much as when Lynne choose Garry over him.

Ex EE actors always get asked this, most of them give the same answer. Especially those who struggle to find acting roles.

His soft sound voice irritated me. But I used to like Alistair McGowan's impression sketchs with him and Steve Owen in the vic

He used to live in my village and have the odd pint in my local. I always fancied him but unfortunately he left before I was 18 and old enough to go in the pub

S'pose he still knows the beales, kat slater and mitchells but i wouldn't mind a return if the story for his return made sense. Maybe if Courtney returned full time and she tracked him down to collect something he might have kept belonging to tiff and he could have a short story arc with her. Only other possible way could be for his sis (martins ex) to be in trouble and martin finds her with memory loss and brings her bk to walford. Beppe then returns.

Personally i would much rather see a return for lisa and melanie

I liked the character at the time, but it would be completely random for him to return. Who would actually know him besides Phil?

How would he return with no connections on the Square?

While I see no point in a Beppe return for the soap and believe Michael was just giving a generic response to an inevitable question, I always find this argument confusing.

In real life, people move to places where they don't know anyone all the time. There is no rule that you can only live somewhere where you know people

Beppe was my first ever crush when I was 10/11 years old! He does indeed get better with age. I agree, it would feel a bit random if he did return though.

IIRC Greco badmouthed EE to the press hence Beppe's rushed non-exit. The show killed two birds with one stone, killing off Rosa from a heart attack at the same time and for the same reason (Louise Jameson bad mouthing the show/the circumstances of her axing).

The Louise Jameson thing was a definite rumour. I could be misremembering about Beppe. His exit was awful though.

Why is this important? Plenty of people live miles away from their family.

This is the one I've always remembered. "There IS an ITV"

You'll be surprise, some do move back to where they use to live.
