Just read she passed away a couple of days ago - only 42 and 7 children left behind. So sad to read this, he hasn't said a word about her being so ill and in hospital since May.
RIP Johannah and all love to Louis and family

I just saw this. It's so sad. They kept it very quiet. Her youngest twins are only little toddlers.

Is Louis the one going out with Chezza?

ETA: no, it isn't.

Poor woman. Poor children. No-one should die so young. I'm surprised there was never any hint of her illness in the press, and I'm glad the family were able to keep it private.

Unfortunately I heard about this on the daily mail site and
ended up reading some comments. Some absolute cretins posting on that site.

How absolutely heartbreaking this must be for those 7 children, thoughts and prayers are with the Tomlinson family at this terrible time.

RIP beautiful lady.

DM is home of folks angry with the world at their own inadequacy. They make up for it spewing their bile at anyone successful. It's only a relatively small core of folks on there but they spend all day posting.

My brother was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukaemia at the same age as Johanna. He is now in remission, thank God. When he was undergoing treatment it was terrifying, but he survived. I don't know why he was lucky, I am just glad he was. This is such sad and shocking news. She did so much for childhood cancer charities as well, using her fame as the mother of one of 1D to do good, raise awareness and create some happy memories for those children. Bless her heart.

The usual "who cares/so what" which always comes up from some people when a celeb or a family member of one dies.

I'm glad to hear your brother was spared. My friend's son is only 22 and his cancer is noww untreatable so I was very moved to read about how much Johanna helped children with cancer. It's so tragic that Louis' mum has died at a young age with a very young family. I've been reading about the good deeds she did along with Louis. I'm older than her so I don't really know anything about 1D but he seems like a generous soul who was obviously brought up very well by his kind hearted Mum. RIP.

What terribly tragic news for all the children. Teenagers and toddlers - so need their mums - and by all accounts she was a wonderful one. May they all find some strength and peace in coming to terms with this big loss in their lives. What a wicked disease cancer is.

Very sad and totally unexpected, especially when it has happened so close to Christmas for him, his child and siblings.

Now that the news has come out, I do hope the media, particularly the tabloid press, give him and his family the privacy they need to grieve.

So very very young. Horrific for all of the family, to lose a parent at such a young age. Even Louis is just 24.

I was 22 when my mum died 5 years ago, and I would not wish it on anyone. You're an adult, but you suddenly realise you don't feel like a 'proper' adult. To know that your mum will never see you settle down and get married, do everything you want. Never another Christmas with your mum, never able to just have a hug again or call your mum. The fear that you will forget, because there is still so much of your life ahead. And so few of your friends have experienced it yet, so no one really knows what to do or say.

Condolences on the loss of your mum. I like to think there is an afterlife and somewhere out there, our parents are looking down on us, supporting us, and smiling. My dad passed away very suddenly a couple of years ago, so I can empathise. He will never walk me down the aisle, he will never know my children (if I am lucky enough to have any) but I can still feel his presence sometimes. Particularly if I'm about to do something daft! I hear his voice so clearly - "No, Frankie, don't!!"

This poor woman, how terrible. Same age as me but with 7 kids. I just went on the DM to look at the comments people have gone on about, but noticed they have now changed the article to stuff Cheryl Fernandez Whateveritis into it. It's not about her!!!

"Pregnant Cheryl and boyfriend Liam Payne lead the tributes" - I would have thought that would have been Jo's husband, if anyone, wouldn't you???

Why must they always refer to her as 'pregnant Cheryl'? I wonder if Louis will move back to the UK now to spend more time with his family? He's estranged from his biological father so really he's lost both of them now, at such a young age. It's his 25 th birthday on Christmas Eve.

Louis is going ahead with his first solo performance on the XF tomorrow. The song is about his mum.
